I am putting a feeler out for my 2000 x1. I absolutely love this bike, but I am trying to find some capital for a business opportunity and I have to choose between one of my two bikes. Unfortunately the X1 loses that battle(for me).
I am asking $4500 obo.
I bought it with 2700 miles on it with a burnt clutch and broken exhaust stud. I repaired the stud, and welded the exhaust. I replaced the clutch with a new Energy clutch with the extra discs to replace the spring plate.
I also did some modifications.
-Lost the plastics on sides and replaced them with some ebay carbon fiber filler plates.
-Added a "ecowinder" intake with K&N filter.
-Led intergrated tail light
-Ebay carbon fiber undertail(with custom bottom mounts so it does no rattle).
-Vortex clip ons with GSXR controls(needed a remote brake reservoir.)
-DIY breather and catch can
-Rizoma billet grips(left one is scratched on end)
-Custom gauge mount(lowered to look better with the clip ons.)

I have all the stock parts. If you dont like the clip ons, I can put the stock bars back on for you.

Anyone interested? Taking offers if I am asking too much.
Thanks,

Jason, don't know if you have been following the "for Sale" page much over the last 6 odd months, but you are right, $4 and a half K would seem to be at the very top end of the range and you may have to wait awhile to realise your price. Don't get me wrong, I think the bike is real tidy and personally, much prefer the looks of Tubers over the "fuel-in-the-frame" ones. Sad fact is, the Tubers should be an appreciating classic or at least a "classic-in-waiting" but you'd never know from the prices. Just as long as they don't all get molested and built into choppers before I can organize one for me. Good luck with the sale. Chris in ChCh

And, how come so many of the Tubers I see for sale in the states have such low mileage ??? Is it that some just get bought and not ridden much, despite the best of intentions. All of the ones I've looked at in New Zealand have 40 to 60K on them at least . .and we ain't a very big country. Has yours spent most of it's life with you getting to the condition it's in now, after you got it stuffed and a sale is contemplated before you had a chance to use it much. ?? Cheers, Chris in ChCh

One of the reasons some have low mileage is that they were part of multi bike collections.

My S2 has been in 44 states but has less than 40K on the clock . . but, at the time I was riding it, I was also riding my 8 other bikes.

From what I was told I am the 3rd owner. The original owner bought it from HD, burned the clutch up and let it sit. Thats what I was told, but I cannot verify that.

The person I bought it from worked for a home remodeling company and saw it sitting in their basement. while they were doing work on his house. Made a offer and the original owner accepted. He didnt know anything about Buells, and quickly turned around and resold it without doing any of the repairs.
I bought it from him this year and got her back running right. Repaired a broken header stud, and replaced the clutch with a energy clutch kit. I also put the aftermarket items on and loaded the Buell race map onto the ecm.
I really really love this bike and want to keep it. Its such a awesome contrast to riding my 1125. I had a lot of plans for it. But at this point I could use the money to aid in a investment opportunity so I put it up for sale.

Like I said, perhaps my price was very high. I cannot edit my title anymore, but am open to offers as I have not had any luck so far.
