Everytime I see a pic of an 850, makes me miss the one I had back-in-the-day that much more. I do NOT however, miss messing with the breaker points.

Where'd the rear brake drum go... can you not run a rear brake with those new alloy rims?

Odd:

The brake drum is on the left, all that's missing on the rear hub is that flimsy aluminum cover Norton put on there.

Here's a pic of the brake side:

ps: No points on this one--Boyer ignition!

Beautiful bike. Just needs the (gold) Norton emblems. Out of curiosity, is the shifter on the right?

Yup. Right side shift, just like God intended...it's got rearsets on it now, but I have the stock Z-plates and pegs/levers if somebody wants it that way. Also have a set of proper clip-ons that look cooler'n'hell but kill my wrists and neck.

I've got a set of silver tank logos, I just need to put them on and clearcoat it some more. If it doesn't sell quick, I may go ahead and do that.

There's a British Motorcycle Owners' Association rally in New Ulm, about 15 miles down the road from me, at the end of May. If it ain't gone by then, I'll ride it down there and hang a "For Sale" sign on it.

Guell: Thanks, but I'm already overextended on Buells. I've got two S1's and an S2 now.

The S1's will be the next to go--can't ride 'em for more than 30 minutes without experiencing significant discomfort in my groindal area...

Anybody in the market for an S1, let me know.

I'd like the S1 but if I buy that the pain in the groinal area would be caused by my wife's foot.

Ditto. Otherwise this Norton would have already been on a truck on its way to New Jersey...

LOL! This Bueller uses it almost everyday!
And the Norton compared to the Triumph and BSA is a bear to kick for those not familiar with them. Many of my bigger buddies I've had a good laugh at their expense when they have tried to kick the old girl! That Norton for sale is really nice & is a very very good price which will only climb over time. The Nortons of all the vintage bikes are really climbing in value this year! Get them while you can afford it! They are also one of the few vintage bikes that can be ridden at modern speeds. They are smooooooth and one of the original rubber mounted engines. No wonder I like my Buells so much. There is so much similiarities! good luck with your sale!

Those bikes are simply stunning. If they're mine, they'd live in my living room under a spot light...
The decals just complete the bike in my opinion.

Thanks, Chris!

Rich--nice Interstate! You're right about the kicking thing, too. I could kick my old TR-6 barefooted, but the Norton takes a stout kick to turn it over. Not sure why, maybe the non-unit construction has something to do with it, or maybe it's just geared differently.

Kalali--if you buy mine, I'll throw in a set of decals...

Nice bike and a great price. It would cost a LOT more than that in the UK so you may want to think about advertising it over here in Classic Bike Magazine or even ebay.

For that price it would be worth shipping and still be cheaper than some I have seen here in England for sale!
