A lot of people have requested that I separate my Vanson Buell Racing leather jacket from the sale of my 1125r. So due to popular demand here you go:

For Sale: Vanson official Buell Racing leather jacket size Large (46 chest). $600obo.

The story:
Vanson (The best Leathers on this planet!) was licensed to sell Buell jackets through the end of 2008. This particular jacket was only available from 2007 to the end of 2008. I was searching for a nice Buell leather jacket so I bought the POS Buell Turbulent Jacket wore it for a week before the zipper zips started falling off. So I exchanged it for yet another Large Buell Turbulent jacket only to have the same thing happen again a week later. Anyway, I noticed something at that point on the tag made in china even though Buell is American Motorcycles. Getting to the point I was desperate for a Buell Jacket that wasn't going to fall apart when the dealer mentioned Vanson Leather. I jumped at the chance even though it was $250 more and put in an order for one on January 6, 2009 for $651.90 (less tax and S&H, just before the official contract expired). Recieved it April 2009 (if you know Vanson then you know they are made to order not mass produced) and now it can be yours as I am selling my bike and all my goodies.

The Jacket:
Vanson leathers were made for real street and track use and this jacket is no exception. It is track weight hand stitched Firenze leather that has a zipper to accept Vanson race pants and compartments for various Vanson armor. It has vents in the back and under the arms that do a great job keeping you cool in the summer (unless you aren't moving). The reason I am selling at its asking price is due to the fact that I have worn it maybe 15 times as it sat at my parents place in Michigan for all of 2009. So it doesn't look more than a day old (still smells like new leather with all the oils still in it) and Vanson leathers are the BEST (Made in USA)! Vanson makes all of Hollywood's leathers, they made the Wolverine Jacket in X-Men and you might of noticed Will Ferrell wearing a Vanson in Talladega Nights. These jackets are hand made to order (took 3+ months to get mine). I think it be pretty accurate to say that considering the price at the time and that the Buell Racing Vanson agreement expired at the end of 2008 that there were very few of these jackets made. I've never seen someone else with one.

Some more details about the Jacket from the catalog (which I still have with prices):
XRRA-Long Jacket
The longer version of our premium sport rider jacket includes A.I.R. sleeve vents, exhaust vents, adjustable waist and 3 zip panels to attach pants. It also features platinum foil graphics. Armor is optional. Length was added to the body, the fit of the garment was relaxed, a double zipper has been added, and a softer (Firenze - Vanson exclusive) leather is used to make this garment a more comfortable fit on and off of your motorcycle. This jacket has the new Buell Racing logo on front and back. Buell item code #BU89.

If you have any other questions send me a PM.

Even though I am selling my Buell Vanson jacket I will never wear another brand of leathers again! Vanson quality and attention to detail are hands down the best in the world. This is a jacket you can wear to the track with some Vanson pants not a jacket with a Buell label stamped on it that was made in China.

I'm sure it will go to a happy home who appreciates an American motorcycle and an American leather jacket. Didn't see an American flag on the Buell Turbulent Jacket.

FYI: I am 6'3" 215lbs and it fits me really well. See Vanson sizing chart for more info as it pertains to you.

Later,
Chris

Good luck.... not easy to sell. I just sold my wifes today after a few attempts on Ebay. My wifes is a rare bird as well and she wore for a total of a whole hour. We payed the same as you for it. My wife just didn't like the jacket. I love mine. Good luck to you though.

Thanks and I hear ya Bads1 but I have gotten a ton of responses on this jacket when I included in the sale of my bike. Vanson is the shit! I would think that there would be a lot of people looking for Buell gear that would like to show off on track days. I purchased it with the intention of getting the pants and taking my bike to the track. Also, I'd have to assume that womens apparel is more difficult to sell.

All Buell owners are a rare breed and this is the rarest of the rare.

Next stop ebay but badweather fans get dibs as always.

This was my wifes. This is the jacket they made before your style. Took 6 months for my wife to get. She got it and wore it on one short ride. Its getting shipped to Japan tomorrow for a bit over 1/2 what we payed. It went on Ebay 3 times before it sold.... lowering the price every time. It sickened me.

Damn man, it sickens me more that the market doesn't call for my Buell 1125r to be worth $8K but Vanson has much deeper roots. I went through the process of having to pay before its made without refunds but was lucky it fit and looked great.

This is odd but I was actually putting in the order to get that exact older style jacket (mens of course) because it was a bit cheaper and looked cool in the catalog but the woman at HD I was ordering it through advised me to get the new Buell Racing version. She too didn't like the older silver logo version having seen it in person. When it comes to apparel woman are definitely more picky.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I would of held onto it and gave it to my nephew as his first cool leather jacket. Maybe get him into motorcycles and Buells at a young age. We need to keep the Buell name alive somehow.

For interested parties...this jacket features Vanson's Firenze leather (introduced in 2007).

Based on my little internet research Firenze leather is Italian leather that provides competition protection but with a softer touch.

"The jacket is made from a competition weight Firenze leather, giving this jacket a broken-in feel. Vanson's competition weight Firenze leather is full grain-finished cowhide." Full grain leather is leather from the top of the hide, think filet Mignon. "Tanned for softness and comfort, their Firenze leather gives you competition grade cowhide with durability and weather resistance but in a softer hand. Vanson has broken this leather in for you by tumbling it in drums at their tannery to make this medium weight cowhide as soft and supple as deerskin. Garments made with Vanson's new Firenze leather give you the instant gratification of a broken-in old favorite while providing you with the quality you expect from this top-quality Amercian company."

Couldn't of said it better myself.

Regards,
Chris

Umm I ain't giving a 600 plus dollar jacket to anyone.lol My wife loved its look and so do I. She didn't like the weight and that it was so stiff. She didn't want to go through the break-in. If the jacket is cheaper then one you have then it wasn't before because its the same jacket just different graphics. Do you really think Vanson feels broken in ??? Wow I've owned three and they all needed to be broken in like a pair of Cowboy boots. But after it is theres nothing like it..... the BEST!!!

I too have this jacket. Mine is the Firenze leather also. I had mine custom made for fit and also the "foil" leather was available in a whole host of colors. I got my jacket made with red foil Buell logo's. It's a sweat jacket. The best I've ever worn.

For anyone considering this jacket I will say the vents in the arms work better than any other jacket I've had. Most jackets I've had just don't flow any air and are horrible to wear when hot. These are comfortable well into the 90's so long as your moving. Only on the hottest days do I wear my perf'ed jacket (Joe Rocket).

One thing to know is that even with the softer leather these jackets are made for riding and not wearing around. Zipped up mine is tight in the chest when standing but perfect when on the bike. For that reason I do not wear the jacket "around" I only wear it when I'm riding. This may be the reason Bads1's wife didn't like it. For some ladies fashion is far more important than safety.

Just for reference, with all of the custom work and GP armour my jacket was just under $1000, and that's with a 20% discount. So though $600 may seem a bit high these jackets are expensive (but worth it). They will last a lifetime if you don't outgrow it and Vanson will even repair it if you go down or want it freshened up.

Sorry to high jack your post. But these ARE sweet jackets. Good luck.

B-loose

P.S. The only way mine will ever be sold is if I'm dead. I don't care what I'd be riding, I love my jacket!
