I have been putting this off for days hoping I wouldn't have to do it but here goes...I bought this from Firemanjim a few weeks back in hopes of putting it on this winter. I literally received it the day after I found out I had to do more engine work. Since then I have bought a second bike so I could at least ride while I worked on the Buell. But I need the cash and it's just sitting there begging to be finished and installed. I know for sure it will fit a '99 Lightning, I'll let you go from there. I'd hate to tell you it fit something and then didn't. As far as modifications; I've only cut the upper tabs off and continued to sand off the coating. That is one big PITA! I cut the tabs off because I don't use an inner fender and didn't like the tabs on it. It has one small nick in it top and center towards the inside where one of the tabs didn't want to come off. I was planning on powdercoating it and figured it would not be noticeable. It still has some sanding to go to be polished but could probably be coated as is. It also comes with the rear axle and adjusters. Here's some pics, if you have any questions ask here or PM me for a quicker response. At least tell me here I have a PM and I can use that as a timestamp for dibs. No lowballers please. Times are hard but they're not that hard...YET.

I'm not 100% sure. I used to work for a company that powder coated but we started with raw steel. If we had a do over we'd sand it down but not completely down to the metal. You'll have to watch for thickness (mils) or you'll get fish eyes or orange peel.
