large NUT that holds ignition switch to frame! mine vibrated off and my ignition switch is just dangling by the wire, i have it ziptied to the frame and looks really bad and makes it a pita to use!

i think its a 3/4 or 7/8 bu the crappy thing is its very fine thread, a -24, which i cannot find anywhere in the local hardware stores.

how did it get past the key to loose it when it was vibrating (running)???
look in the driveway/garage, it shouldnt have gotten too far.

You will need to clean up the threads on the switch assembly before you can screw the new ring down tight.
Use a thread file. I got mine at ACE hardware for about $15. It's got 8 different common thread pitches. Very useful device to have around. I have a standard and metric. They have bailed my butt out more times that I can count.
