This is a 1997 S1 Lightning,(10,000 Miles) I purchased it to make it a donor bike for another project, My plans changed and I didnt want to part this bike out as it is a really nice bike. It is pretty clean for its age. The extras it has are PM wheels, Vance and Hines exhaust, 42 Mikuni Carburator, Hypercharger Air Filter, Corbin Seat, Aluminum oil tank, New Battery, Aftermarket turn signals and tailight license plate holder and more.It is a really good condition motorcycle It is coming up to need a rear tire, has some slight scratches on the air filter cover. Also I had lowered the motorcycle 4 inches with a pingel strut. I do have the original shock which goes with the motorcycle. Feel free to contact me with any questions. $4500.00

This has been listed on eBay for ages. Everybody even remotely interested in Buells has seen it over and over and over and over again. Now the novelty got old and even the last bit of interest -- let alone magic -- has faded away.
The former parts bike doesn't sell, because it's overpriced, plain and simple. The market has spoken again, and again and again and again and again. The price is correct for the year 2020. Until then, the eBay fees will have eaten up all of the profit. I could sell this very bike within a week, literally. I'd list it with an opening bid of $19.97 (we always list even $100K cars with the "year" opening bid since 1999) and no reserve or a reasonable reserve.
It's so easy, a caveman can do it: sell a bike or car for what the market will pay. Not a difficult concept at all: you make money when buying something (cheap enough) and get paid when you sell it (at market value).

not sure why everyone has an opinion on what stuff is worth in every ad posted on here.
I bought a 99 X1 in March of 09....for $3200. Rode it a year.....made a grand when a deer decided it no longer wanted to be part of this world and other than replacing the filter for the Forcewinder and a little polish just sold it to the 1st person that looked at it for $3900. I also gave him a new set of tires and a couple extras.....but that bike was worth that $ all day long.
I worked for a H-D dealer that also sold BMW's years back and Buell riders are almost identical......CHEAP as can be.
Other than what it took to keep the bike moving....not a cent was spent on extras etc.....
Every bike that is listed is by most responces "overpriced".....and what exactly do you think that mentality has done to the over all value...?...Some of you guys kill me.....you will pay top $ for some stupid Pegeasus etched trinket...but a fella needs to sell his bike and for next to nothing and noone will buy it.....then he states he will have to part it and all of a sudden he is "Sac-Religous".......
Lot of "haters" on here that would rather bust on something......mainly because it is not there's and they wish it was.....too funny
