I've decided to part out my 1050 race motor and stick with running stock from here on out. I had a transmission failure at the first race weekend this year, so everything but trans and cases is still in good shape. The original motor had about 7000 miles on it in an 03 XB before being built into a race motor. As such it has about 8 track days and 3 race weekends on it, all run with the stock rev limiter set at 7500 rpm. Here's a copy of the dyno sheet from Hoban bros after I had it updated to the Buell Race ECM (the real - programable one)  Here's the original build sheet from Hoban's.  If there's something you're looking for and don't see here let me know. Let's start with the crank. This is a Darkhorse (http://www.darkhorsecrankworks.com/)lightened 2003 XB9 crankshaft. As noted above it was never run above the stock rev limit of 7500 rpm. Asking $575    for reference here's a pic of a stock crank.  More to come... Millenium cylinders 3 9/16 bore. Asking $475  The rear cylinder has some material removed from two fins on the pushrod side to get better clearance for the pushrod tube bolts. (circled in red)      | ||

Heads. I measure these at 1.9 intake and 1.615 exhaust. As noted on the build sheet this was $1000 work into the heads. Nice looking Crank and rods, But they are full of Holes...! :-) I`ll take the Bronze oil pump drive gear $30 Sure don`t look like much improvement for all that gear in that dyno chart though... GUys with a pipe /ecm, filter were making close to 100 RWHP in the exhaust shoot out?? What about the big bore Pistons are they for sale with them Jugs? Is that race ECM the newer Windows system or the DOS based? I am assuming that it is DDFI 2, correct? | ||

Hogs - PM me your address. I scrapped pistons when I tore the motor down because the wrist pin retainer grooves were distorted such that I had to press out the pins. I do have a set of CP piston rings that I'll thow in with the deal - new in box. All I can say about power is all dyno's are different. This one should have hit 90 if they took it to 7500 rpm, that chart maxes out at around 7200. (Message edited by knickers on November 22, 2009) | ||

Race ecm is spoken for. I can also go with a package deal if anyone is interested. Heads + 585 cams + Millenium cylinders + lifters + roller rockerboxes + pushrods for say $1000. Any other combinations just let me know and we can work something out. The rest will be going up on ebay in a week or so. | ||
