Looking to get out of the game. '04 XB12S with 18,xxx miles. Has race ECM, K&N filter, Drummer, '08 airbox, catch can, bar end mirrors (and have the originals), cheese grater chopped, passenger pegs removed (still have them so they can be put back on), Michelin Pilot Powers, and probably some other things in there I'm missing. Has extended warranty until 03/2010. Looking to get $5,500. Not looking for any trades. Additional pictures can be taken if needed.  | ||

Yeah, they haven't tanked that bad! An '03 XB9S is worth $3500 still...$5000 is a fair price for a very clean XB12S. | ||

3k is ridiculous. 4ish isn't. 5 is on the high end for a bike with 18+K on the clock. gorgeous bike, I don't think I'd swap out the plastics for cf. Its fine the way it is. | ||

Yeah, that thing was way more crusty, has 30% more miles, and has been raced...you got a square deal, but this bike is surely worth more! I wish I could afford this bike right now...I just don't need a 3rd Buell! Someone buy it before I do something stupid!  | ||

By all means, do something stupid!! I really wouldn't mind!  I hate how many people I've been approached by ask if I just want to part out both of my bikes... now why would I do that to 2 perfectly good bikes?!?! Just doesn't make any sense to me. Same thing with the amazing low ball offers. I know they're not worth a lot, but I also know they're not worth nothing. If I have to hold onto them til the "discounted new bike" thing passes, I will. They're both nice and cozy, tucked away in the garage for the winter right now. I would entertain any offers in the $4,500 range. If someone approached me offering $8k for both my bikes for sale, they would have a new home... just some food for thought!  | ||

Andy, I have no idea why you think the bike I bought was raced? It has always been a street ridden bike. And the bike is spotless,not sure where you got the way more crusty? Look Queenie, You get what you pay for. I have seen Chads bike in person and let me tell ya that thing is beautiful and extremely well taken care of. From the looks of the bike you bought, yeah it may have some trick parts but its also a firebolt. In my opinion a firebolt will always grab less money than a lightning. Regardless, in the end you lowballed Chad (which you have to start somewhere), but coming back to say he should have taken the deal was completely unnecessary. BTW I dont know if that bike you bought has ever been raced or not, I do find it a little strange someone bought a 500 dollar set of rearsets with never having the intentions of racing or trackbike duty. Just saying.... Chad I wish you the best of luck with the sale, personally I think you should wait till the scare goes over. The values will rebound a bit in the spring. Besides the XB platform will always pull more money than the 1125 platform in the future. | ||

Dana, My response wasn't really directed at Chad. It was directed at buellinachopshop who said my offer of $3,000 was ridiculous. If you read his post you will see how he said there was basically no way you could buy a XB12 for that price and I was showing him you could. If not for that post there would never have been a post from me saying what I paid for one. So if anybody has bad ethics maybe you should talk to him? How you feel that is bad business ethics is beyond me. I know you are all just sticking up for a friend so no hard feelings but lets not blow this out of porportion folks. | ||

Seriously Queenie, that's what using the PM feature is for. This thread has just been cluttered with crap since you've posted. Hopefully this thread will die out(which I was hoping it would do!). I've started a new thread trying to sell both my S3T and XB12S for $8,000... for both of the bikes. If you're interested, by all means send a PM, if not, please stop polluting people's threads...
