I'm looking to buy a reasonably priced (under $7,000.00)08-09 Ulysses X or XT with under 4,000 miles that's never been wrecked or dropped and close to Atlanta Ga.

six seven eight, 66two, 2nine 00

I've got an 08 XT with 11,000 miles and an 09 X and XT brand new.

We are in Murfreesboro, TN.

Thanks Ft bstrd, but I would like to buy used from a private seller, since I won't have to pay taxes on the bike, like at a dealership.

I.P.

You guys are lucky, up here in New York we get hit with tax whether at a dealership or from a private sale(new or used). Worse if you don't get the correct form from the private sale the DMV charges you what they feel is the going rate for the vehicle. Guaranteed that rate is far higher than any sane used purchase is worth.

grumble... grumble

The sales taxes are a deduction rather than a direct credit. Depending on your tax rate, that could be 15%-34% of your sales taxes rather than dollar for dollar.

Tow locals just convicted here. They are reconciling the buyers sales tax amount with the income claimed from the sale by the sell.

Be aware.

Some states go by retail, and if it gets sold for under 75% without a junk certificate or salvage then they charge full retail tax.....

yeah, in Texas they now charge tax on what the blue book value of the vehicle is instead of what you paid for it. doesnt matter what condition its in, wrecked etc... knew a guy that bought a wrecked bike and actually paid as much in tax as he paid for the bike

Here's your sign! That's stupid as claiming income from dope deals.
