aaah, that would be me and totally second that. deanna at modesto is simply AWESOME. in my first experience with them, she wouldn't charge my credit card before i received all the items, and that they were to my satisfaction! now THATS customer service!

if all buell delears were like modesto, i'm sure there'd be more buells on the road today. its unfortunate that they're not a board sponsor

look forward to our first ride lornce...

Good Pricing, Bad customer service... I can see why you have bikes still on the floor.

IF I were in the market for a Buell, Modesto would be very high on my list even though it is 2200 miles away.

Why don't you post that comment here
and let us know how that works for ya'.

Only a few shops have not had ways around selling and shipping out of state , as long as I had cash.

Can we infer from that you've had no direct experience with them what so ever?

I'm with the Modesto Buell fan club. Any and all dealings I've had with them have been above and beyond

I wouldn't take the fact that the dealer network agreement prohibits them from selling via phone and shipping, as any indication of the level of service or their dedication to the Buell community.

Actually, the fact that they honor agreements - even if silly - seems like a plus to me

Jon,
You are WAY out of line and have proved yourself to be... unreliable (a kind word) in your commentary.

Jon,
I think people are just curious what you based your formed opinion on. You've probably noticed many folks around these parts have no problem stating when they have a problem with a particular dealership. So, if there was a problem then please speak up about it (and probably in the proper dealership reporting section of the site here), because right now the votes are against you. Not saying you're right or wrong, just curious about what the opinion is based on.

And if it's none of my (or our) business then just say so. It's just that Modesto, up until now, has maintained a good reputation (past rumors of their getting out of Buell not withstanding). So, speak now, or forever be outvoted.

ps, interesting bike in your profile pic. will probably see you around the region sometime this summer. If so, say hello.

Jon,
Post a dealership report at the following link, just please add some reason behind it so that we all might become better informed, and so that any dealership staff that reads the site here can have some idea of where their shop may need improvement.

Mike, Not a problem. Customer service is a broad term for a loosely formed statement. I see a price. I got excited. I'm making changes to my investments to acquire what I can. I see a post telling me that I have to fly out to the shop, find a means of transport or as was suggested fly and ride. ( until today, I would not even plan to get on one of the bikes in this weather). What I did cost me some money. I know it is on me that I acted with out asking if the RULE is strictly adhered to. But I was upset. I spoke my mind, and I don’t think that we need to keep revisiting this. Do we? No one else here has said something when they were upset that others did not agree with?

It is the first time for me that some thing could not be "arranged". I know HD does not want competition of any kind. But I thought this was the U S of A . But then we have been accepting more control by others for some time now

Might want to see how Dave or Bubba work the deal. They sell bikes to all corners of the country. It can't be that hard.

Hell, for the savings on the bike, you can fly from Milwaukee to San Fransisco for around $200 round trip. Get a cheap hotel near the airport for around $40. Have them pick you up or meet you with the papers. If I remember right (from getting quotes myself), it costs about $450 to ship via Forward Air (with their container). All said and done....$700 above the price of the bike.

It's not that we don't want to sell to out of state buyers, it's just that our district manager said HD Corporate could take our Harley dealership away if we did. Since I WILL NOT be responsible for 65 people losing their jobs, I will comply with what the DM tells us to do.

BTW, both XB9R's? SOLD!!

Rules like that are meant keep, as I see it. Danny is right in protecting the jobs of 65 people that work there, and the countless others that would be affected if something bad went down. If I was in the market for one now, I'd fly out and snag one. It'd be a hell of an adventure. I haven't dealt with Modesto yet, haven't needed that many parts yet (Thank God), but their number is in my cell phone when I do.

The XB9SL has been sold. I have mixed emotions.

Now I'm just another 40 something guy with an earring and a Harley...

Maybe the wife will let ride her Blast some....

Thanks,

Brad

and for 8Gs I can get a ‘03 Buell in Southern Wis, Northern IL., a week off + cost. Not an incentive. But that’s me.

Now the loss of a Dealership after the cost to get one. I can respect that. I don’t like HD controlling its dealers, but I respect the fear of loosing the dealership. Thank you HD for furthering our free market. I’m done.

So what is still for sale on the board? I’m looking for tube frame bikes that need TLC.
