I really would like to put the vented ring that comes on the 07+ airboxes on my '05. If anyone has a damaged or messed up airbox cover that has the vented ring around the gas cap please email me at oxygen151@aol.com. I dont want it bad enough to justify buying a new one, but if someone has one lying around please let me know.

This seems like an in-demand item right now!

Would be cool if somebody made an aftermarket piece for this conversion.

Don't the '03-'05 XB's suck quite a bit of air through that hole in the frame?

I need one too and I asked at my HD dealer - you can't buy one separately. Has anyone drilled out the plastic with multiple holes - would that work?

No drilling necessary. You can use tin snips or similar to cut the plastic tabs off so you can remove the vent. From there glue the vent on the cover and your golden.

mine has holes drilled in the 04 box. looks OK, wish the guy who did it would have layed them out a bit better first.
I keep thinking of cleaning it up with my dremel and jb welding some screen door material in there for looks
