I have a 1125R with under 4400 miles on it for sale on ebay with a reserve price of 9,000,

if it does not sell and anyone is interested in it let me know I might go down on the price, I will sell either bike for what they will give me for the trade in price.

also if anyone wants to know what I have in extra parts for the uly just ask.

the uly has only 8700 miles on it and is a 2006 the last year of the 3 phase around 500 watt charging system,

in 2007 they went down to a 405 watt single phase charging system and I do not know why but am curios how the police bike is going to handle the extra lights and everything else on a police bike, plus the will shut the bike off and have the lights on so not sure if it can handle it or they are going to upgrade the police bike with a different charging system.

Anyone know why they did this? and if it will be trouble down the road?

I think that someone like me that does not have a car and drives through the winter with a fully heated suite will drain the battery, but I am not an expert in electrical systems,

I have a program that calculates the bikes normal running things like head lights and so on and on,

the the new Buells with the 405 watts would leave me at -80 with my heated gear, Harley up graded there charging systems this year to put out more power and the XBT is marketed as a touring bike and being a single phase is really weird all new motorcycles have a three phase charging system.

I can understand the other bikes but the XBX and XBXT should have at least 500 watts

and the police bike uly with all there lights?

anyway I am still having the battery or charging issue,

I think it is the battery but not sure, just started going dead in two days of sitting this just started last month, Now I rode home all highway and the battery was at 12.4 when I got home and only live less than a mile from the highway, the battery was fully charged and read 12.4 last night now it is reading 12.1 volts.

I have a feeling it is the battery that is the problem and do not know why they did not try a new battery with all the times I have taken it into my dealerships service department.

also the bike is not running to good now and that could also be a from a bad battery or charging system,

the bike is under warranty so I know it will get fixed but after how many times of bringing it there, I remember after they replaced the voltage regulator that can hurt the battery? I asked them to hook up all my gear and see if it was a problem and was told with all my heated gear that the bike was fine and was connected to the computer when they told me this,

anyway they are less than a half mile from the highway and I am less than a mile from the highway and just stopped to pay two tolls, also did not use my whole suite just my jacket so that makes it even more of what is going on? they tell me I am good to go with all my gear and I cruise home with just my jacket liner that is 90 watts and got home with the battery light on, so now what would be the problem that would do this? a bad voltage regulator can harm the battery, but I am going by what others have told me or read on the web researching electrical systems, so know one please do not tell me I am wrong because all I know is riding with high beams on, gps, and voltage gauge the engine light comes on and the battery light comes on and the tail light is led now so that takes less than a watt to run and freed up 25 watts.

I bought it Dec 10TH so has 14 month left on the warranty so what ever is wrong will be fixed.

the dealership that I bought it from can not fix it and is to far away, 110 miles from me to keep bringing the bike there, and now the two other bikes I have are broken the Blast needs a new rear wheel which is not a problem happened yesterday and I have a new rear wheel and tire for it, my sons ulysses just broke and just found out it is the wheel bearing, same side as the blast with in less than a week how weird is that.

So I am dead in the water right now and just wanted to let you guy's know I have the 1125R with less than 4500 miles and the ulysses that has the extended warranty on it has only 8700 miles on it.

So what ever I get from a dealership towards trading in I will sell to anyone interested,

I am going back to a Hog and should never had sold my bagger.

Hey Mike,

It'll be interesting to see what the dealer will give you on the trade in ...

I'm sure you'll find a buyer/buyers here!

Mike, did you list this in the bikes for sale section too, I didn't see it in there? If not you may want to do that, also put some links in the 1125 and Uly pages to get some advertising in... Good luck, wish I could buy a Uly right now, I'd love to drive one back here from the east coast.

Hi Littlebuggles I do not have the bike now I traded it in,

the ulysses rear wheel bearing went coming home from a dealership and the bike had a oil pump go last year and when the told me it was going to take a while to fix my son who I gave the bike to wanted to trade it in,

so we rode up to the Buell dealership to look at bikes and on the way home the 1125R's wheel bearing went on the same highway as the ulysses but a few miles further than the ulysses, now that is strange,

I also have a Buell Blast that had the wheel bearing go to, so with in two weeks I had three bikes with the same wheel bearings going the rear drive side,

now the blast I can understand it was old and probably not made to ride two up, I was riding my son when the blast went and the 1125R I was riding my son to so maybe the extra weight did it but the ulysses I was alone and only had 8700 miles and the 1125R 4500,

so maybe a weight issue but all of a sudden been getting emails about the ulysses wheel bearings going, drive belt breaking, and kickstand breaking which happened to me also, so when I heard it was going to take a while and last year I missed the fall riding season because the ulysses was down for over two month and do not have a car so traded them both in towards new Harley's.

I miss the bike but could not depend on it and wanted to make a sport tourer out of it, and take it on a track to have some fun.

I think the bike would have got me in to much trouble, I had a cop follow me home and gave me a warning because I lived in peabody and he had seen me before.

Maybe down the road I will buy another Buell but I like single cylinder bikes and KTM makes a 690 single so maybe that will be my next bike to have fun on, I still have the blast and it is dependable now that I have a new wheel and bearings and have a big bore kit, screaming eagle cams, carb, voltage regulator, and coil all new bought of ebay.

I am still looking for more parts on ebay and after the winter I am going to rebuild it,

if it comes out good I will keep it, if not I will sell it and get a Buell or KTM, if I get a Buell it will be an XBSs if I get the KTM it will be the 690 unless some other company makes a better single cylinder bike,

I have always liked the thumpers but till now they have been on the down side for power, I also like what they are doing with the 450cc MX Bikes, turning them into road racers is something I would like to ride.

All are just a dreams right now, I am putting my son through College and do not have much money left over for gas and coffee.

Littlebuggles one thing I do not understand is in 2007 the put a new charging system on all the XB bikes,

Buell went from a three phase 495 watt charging system to a single phase 405 watt charging system, I do not know why and been asking around but have not got a good answer as to why they did this?

Harley went up in power in its charging system and did it for us crazy people who drive all winter in the cold and wear heated gear.

I do not know how the bikes charging system is going to handle the excess power of the ulysses police bikes, or maybe they are going to upgrade the ulysses police bikes with an upgraded charging system to handle all the power the police bikes will need?

I do think the police made an excellent choice for a police bike, the ulysses is an awesome bike if it is trouble free.

Bagger, don't know how much you are on here, but the thumper section seems like the perfect place for you. We would love to see some pics of your blast and details of the mod's you have done and are planning!

Hi Dwinecracker I agree I love the thumpers.

I have not done anything with the blast yet besides new tires, I have fire bolt head lights I might use on it, big bore piston and cyclinder but think the cylinder is not good but can get one for 150, I have the screamin eagle cams, coil, voltage regulator all new from ebay,

I have to get on bad web and see what you guys are doing to the blasts,

I want a Holigan bike, something to have fun on but KTM with its 690 single has me thinking, but I do not like buying non American products so I probably stick with the blast and do a rebuild for more power and make sure the bike is tight.

I could go in 4 directions, corner carver, bobber, flat tracker, or custom, my son calls the bike a peice of sht and is not a gear head like me and I grew up with 4 stroke dirt bikes and had many Honda XL bikes a Yamaha XT and always wanted an SR and one Kawasaki that was the best running bike I had, on a cold morning I could start it up with the choke on and turn it off in a minute or two and would run and never had to jet the bike,

I also had a Honda Ascote but was slow, now I am slow.

I will be on the forum soon just got many other things to do right now but have to get dirt tires and studs for winter riding from Aerostich, just found out this year about them and they have around 6 sizes depending on the tire from street to dirt.

I also got a book from them for free if you order like over a certon amount but cost 5 dollars and is about touring on a bike like the blast and is called the Lightweight unsupported motorcycle travel for the terminal cases, small print, Being a treatise on touring by motorcycle in a practical and efficient manner, had to get the glasses out for reading that.

I will be on badweb in a month but have not done any mods yet, I got parts but my son and I need it to use it for bad weather and when salt and sand is on the ground and will take some pictures of the bike with knobbies on it and what ever else I do by then.

Hi Malott442 I do unless it is something I can not do or under warranty,

I had a bike shop when I was young charge me for taking my carb apart and they told me the jets were pressed in and could not do anything to it and six month later I took it apart and they had lied and did nothing I looked and looked for that receipt but never found it, Harley did not change the oil filters at the first service and caught them by scratching the bottum of the filter so I do not trust anyone to touch my bike unless I have no other choice.
