Quests show up on ebay pretty regularly.

The antennas will eventually fail, but a $20 external antenna will work better anyway... and other then that they are a fantastic little portable unit.

You should be able to get a Quest 1 on ebay for $100, and a Quest 2 for $175 or less. That may sound pricey for old technology, but it was ahead of it's time, and just getting map data is still $80 or so.

Pay attention to the Garmin software version when you bid on auctions... Up to date map data, if included, is likely worth as much or more then the hardware unit itself ($80).

I played with a neighbors 60cx, which is the adventure rider "golden boy" unit. Loved the sensitivity of the chipset, but everything else about the unit felt awkward for street navigation. And it was expensive. It supposedly does better on dirt, but the unit I had included some fairly pricey topo data, and it was less then useful.

Im no longer interested in a quest I, no expansion bay. Makes loading maps a pain. Quest II would be fine. Or the streetpilot 2626 or something would also do.
