I need an X1 top clamp for my front end. one of my handle bar bolts decided it wanted to eat the threads instead of go into them!

will an m2 clamp work? or are the fork tubes bigger on an x1?

You may be able to use an S1 or S3 top clamp. Inverted forks to inverted forks.

Why not hit the parts store and get a helicoil? It's worth a shot...

M2's dont have inverted front ends. You need either an X1 or S1. If the top tree is stripped, for a temp fix can you just drill a hole all the way through, use a longer bolt and put a lock washer and a nut on it?

i actually used the bolt and kept putting it in thread by thread then taking it out and cleaning the hole out, it works fine now-but im not 100% sure about the 100% holding strength of that one hole. It will never back out i know that, but i still want another for future replacement and to make it black.
