I've had this bike since Aug 2007. It was in rough shape when I got it but over the past six months I've done a lot of work to get it where it is today. I really love this bike, it can do what ever you want it too and is such a joy to ride. I'm getting rid of it because I have my eye on another bike, an xb series Buell.

Here's a list of upgrades that have been done so far:

-New turn signals and custom license plate bracket
-Resealed gas tank (Kreem) due to surface rust
-Rebuilt, rejetted, and added one shim to slide needle
-Desnorkled stock filter
-New sprockets/chain with about 4k miles so far
-New rear ContiRoad Attack with less than 1k miles and is good for about 7k more miles
-Front ContiSport Attack tire has about 4k miles
-90 kg fork springs from Rich Desmond at Sonic Springs with 20wt Bel Ray fork oil
-2006 636 rear shock
-Corbin seat
-Performed all required maintenance as called for by the service manual except changing brake fluid and coolant


The front wheel was bent enough to not hold the bead of the tire, and I had the wheel professionally repaired. In the photobucket album their is a photo of where the repair was done. Sometime in the past the battery leaked onto the swingarm, corroding the finish slightly. The tank has one small dent from the left switch cluster and their are two small chips in the paint. The dent and the chips are very small and barely noticeable. I dropped the bike the first time I rode it. The left slider has a bit of rash on it, and the rear passenger peg does too. The left bar end has a small bit of rash on it but it's turned to where it's not visible.

Other than those small problems the bike is in excellent shape. Due to the carb overhaul the bike runs great. The suspension upgrades and tires literally transformed the whole feel of the bike. It's setup really well, has gobs of grip, and is effortless to throw around in corners. As all of you know, SV's are legendary for excellent cornering

It's worth 2,500. In pristine shape a first generation SV can fetch about 3k, and for this bike to be their it would require fresh paint and a few bits and pieces (swingarm and passenger foot peg). Shoot me an email and let me know if we can work something out. [email]vdub1958@yahoo.com[/email]
