Looking for a couple of used dirtbikes, one for an adult, another for a noo-b riding kid. 80-110 cc's for kid, 125-250 cc's for adult. Kid is tall (rides 20" bicycle). Adult bike should be comfortable for someone with 32-34" inseam. Must run well/be mechanically sound and be reasonably priced. Not too concerned with cosmetics at this point. I'm keeping mine, but you might want to watch for used KLR-250's. People shy away from them because they are kick start, but they are street legal, do fine in the dirt, and I got a runner for under $700. They will cruise at 70mph if you ever have to traverse an interstate as well... | ||

Thanks for the advice, Reepicheep. A kickstart machine would be fine for us. I'm familiar with the KLR 650, and know that those are good bikes, so it makes sense that a 250 would also be worth looking into. We've been looking at used Kawasaki KLX 110's for the little dude. Everything I've read on those so far has been positive. Any experience with those? |
