This is copied from the classifieds of another (non-buell) forum I occasionally visit:

The bike is a limited production 1995 Buell Thunderbolt S-2 1200...It has 12,503 miles, PM polished wheels, Vance&Hines pipe, smoked windscreen, rear tire like new and front tire probably has aonther year left on it, color is blue saphire..has some slight scuffs and scratches but nothing major...This bike is very reliable and runs great, has no leaks or any other mechanical problems...comes with factory Buell tank bag and stock pipe, and i have an old helmet if one is needed....reason for selling is i have 3 bikes and no vw anymore...
Looking for trades for a nice daily driver or will sell for $3,500

That is a pristine . . front brake, fender, welded seams in exhaust and carbon fiber rear inner fender.

That's a steal.

Original tank vent too. Wish I could convince the wife I need a second S2...maybe if I snuck it into the garage she wouldn't notice?

nah....

Question on the rear fender though - my S2 looks like it has carbon under the black texture paint. Is that the case? Did they just paint the later ones, or were they a different material? Maybe I'll strip mine down and see what's under there....

Hmmmm...Looks as tho it has never had updates/recalls...
RE: rear shock, rear fender wear guard.
Please list Vin # and production date .
Ratbuell can run the vin # on it for you.
To import to canada or europe, it must have a Dealers letterhead notice that recalls have bin performed.
If it wasnt so much BS..T to import, Id consider another for the stable...

I tell you all what, if I lived a little closer that would be in my garage. It is a steal at 3,500. Why would anyone pay twice that much to be on a beatup Sportster? It is beyond me. I would like to add that to the S2 list and hope someone on the BadWeb buys it or it may end up as a chopper project!

Frank - I just mailed you a set of levers...it'll take a lot of little bubble envelopes to mail a whole bike though.

Oh, shipping was a whopping $3.65.

And Hank, I'd be happy to run the VIN. Of course, it's only 2 hours from me...if I look, I may buy. LOL.

I forgot to mention in my ad that it is autographed as well, on the bag under the seat, i cannot make it out so maybe i'll post a pic and someone on here can decipher it, and also have a factory Buell tank bag and stock pipe for it...Thanks to Hank for the info and thanks to whoever posted my ad on here...the bike is located in central PA. My email is gti570@aol.com and my phone is 570-419-0896 for serious inquires only please...John

yes, im not really wanting to ship, unless its a deal where the shipping company comes and gets it and i don't have to crate it up or anything. i'd really like to have this gone in the next week or so.

RatB.....
So what happens with the open recalls?
Does a Buell dealer still get the parts from Buell and perform them?
To enter Canada, one needs a note from Buell or an authorized dealer stating the recalls and that they have been performed, showing vin # etc...
I think ya can bring the unit in but must have all updated recalls done within 30 days....Im gonna look into a bit deeper.

John, as far as shipping goes, one can easily get a crate bottom from an HD dealer.
Usually Free, as they just turf or sell as scrap...Im sure a dealer would give you one and also some straps....Plus they would Im sure for a small fee alow you to bring the bike to the shop for pickup by a truckin out fit...Not sure who the nearest dealer is to ya or what they are like, but $$$ usually makes em get offa the couch.
Just tryin to help ya man, and see someone get this unit who will appreciate it...What kinda VW ya looking for?... A Herbie!

Where purchased?
How long ya had if not new?
Did you get the recalls notices?
Maintennance records?
Just curiuos...Hankb

According to the SWR, John is not the original owner.

For recalls, yes, a dealer should still be able to get hold of the required parts and perform the recalls. If ya end up getting it, I'll pick it up for ya, beat on it...er, ride it down here and we can do the recall work for ya. Hell, I'll even drain and palletize it for ya!
