No laughing... I have a hard on for these bikes. I'm looking for a 1948-1950 HD 125S. Doesn't have to have an engine, but does need to be in restorable condition. I'm willing to travel for this.

Please PM me with anything, as I'll probably forget to check this posting.

I've got a tail light assembly off of one, but you can't have it. Came off a bike my dad had as a kid, someday I'm going to build up a bike starting from this tail light.

Here's one posted in the Milwaukee craigslist for a 1950 model, apparently up in the northwest corner of the state.

At least I threw you a bone and gave a link to that bike for sale. Is that along the lines of what you were looking for?

If I get a little ornery later after visiting a local gunshop and then fighting my way thru the city traffic on the way home maybe I"ll post up a pic of my tail light.

Mike - I can't tell yet - the work laptop won't let me look at it, but I'll check it out once I'm home.

There's a finished one on ebay I'm keeping an eye on, but I have a feeling it's going to creep out of my price range pretty quick.

I think those are called Hummers. You see them at some vintage swap meets, like the one at Davenport, Iowa on Labor Day weekend(if you are close, it is worth it, takes two days to walk over really good, I think its about 13 acres). I have not made it to Mid-Ohio, but, I am going to try this year, I seen several, entry level bikes, and tons of fixed up ones. The year range is longer, 'til '65 or so. They made 125's and 165's. There are collector clubs and such. I almost bought a green, '55, all there, but apart, with a cool old paint job with pin stripping go for $800.
Good Luck

I think those are called Hummers

Although some refer to them as Hummers, the only bikes that actually were Hummers were the 125cc models from 1955-59.

The reason I want '480'50 is because those first years used a girder-style rubber band suspension that I just think is cool, and the funders looked a little different.
