I need taller bars for my (used) X1, and don't want to spend the dollars for aftermarket. Plus all the Badwebbers say these will drop in without incident.

Thanks.

I have a 2000 M2 and tried the Blast and S3T bars but now have a set from (cyclewarehouse) they are a little higher and braced much better. As long as you don't have a tach they are much better I think. I'll try to get you the part #.

I do have a tach. The M2s didn't have tachs?! What does that matter? What didn't you like about the other two--and are they different?

I have had both bars side by side and could not see any difference except for the part#. And I don't think the aftermarket bars I have will work with the tach because another BWB person checked out the measurements and said it would be to tight. The Blast and S3T bars should just drop in and be 1.5-2 in. higher without any prob. and let you sit a bit more upright. My aftermarket are also a bit higher than the other bars OK. Hope that explains your ques.

If you try and use the S3T/Blast bars with the dual gauges you will have to modify the pod. The bars are much narrower than standard and will not fit properly or adjust with out mods. You will also run into problems with the new position of the clutch cable.

Oh no! I already have a bid in on some S3T bars on ebay. I've read tons of threads on here about using the S3T bars on the X1. I've seen pics in people's profiles. How, exactly, will I have to modify the gauge cluster? Everything I've read here said the cables would just need to be re-routed, as they are the same part# for all the tubers.

Sorry, my experience with the S3T bars has to do with the M2. Maybe someone with an X1 can chime in and clear this up for you.

Nevermind. Got some S3T (?) bars on ebay from some chopper-building savage. I was the only bidder. Sure hope they fit.

Joey,
I just purchased a '99 X1 2 weeks ago. I'm 6'4", the X1 bars had me sitting right on the "family jewels" I switched to bars for a Blast, it took me 20 mins, no modifications at all, everything fit just fine, all the cables were JUST long enough. It sat me up enough to avoid crushing the "man-berries".
According to the parts mgr at the Buell dlr where I work, (Buell owner himself) the Blast & S3T bars are exactly the same.

Bob,
I am also 6'3" n just got the exact same bike as you. I am going to the blast bars soon, but I remember you saying something about lowering the pegs. Did you ever come up with a solution?

John,
I'm not sure yet, one of the other Bad webbers mentioned an S2T lowering kit. My parts mgr found the peg mounts for the S2T in the parts catalog, they are "S" shaped instead of straight. They should arrive in about 5 days. I'll know when I try them. They are relatively expensive, almost $200 for both. If not for the employee discount, I'm not sure I would have ordered them.
