I'm the second owner and have had it since it had about 2200 miles. It now has just under 10k miles. The motorcycle has been well taken care of and never abused. Most of the miles are street ridden and I've had it to 3 trackdays. The bike has Pirelli Diablo Corsas on the front and rear. The Buell frame pucks are also installed.

At the last trackday I attended I lowsided in a slow hairpin corner. All broken parts have been replaced. There was no serious damage to the bike. The frame pucks were in place but they didn't even touch down. I've already replaced the brake lever with a new OEM unit. The right handle bar also has some damage but does not inhibit the action of the throttle. The swingarm and header are scratched but I have cleaned them up so they are hardly noticeable. I have ridden the bike since the lowside for over 3000 miles and it drives just like it did before, straight and solid!

Bike is located in northern Michigan. I can deliver anywhere within the state. The picture is from before I installed the frame pucks.

I'd like to get $4000 and am fairly firm on the price.

Wow, that pic makes that bikes colors really pop. Would it be possible for you to send me some hi-res pics, especially of the handlebar that you mentioned, and of both sides of both axles, and any other damage that may be visible. Also, where in Michigan are you? I have family in Indiana, so if you would deliver it to southern Michigan I may be able to get it from there.

The rear right side of the axle only grazed the ground. Then right passenger peg and handlebar took most of the damage. I replaced the brake lever and passenger peg. I'd be willing to help with delivery.

New pics!

Joe -
I have a few questions that came up from looking over the pictures.

1) The rear portion of the muffler looks like there is a small oil leak back there. I don't pay much attention to other mufflers, is this just the way the race muffler looks after 7K miles?

2) It looks like there is some damage to the right rear edge of the seat. Is this the case, or just something brought out by the pictures.

3) I will assume that this is from the wreck. but why is the right front turn signal OE, but the rest are aftermarket? Do you have an aftermarket replacement for it?

4) In the first picture you posted, you don't have the pucks on. But, in the pictures just posted, there are pucks. I know you said the pucks were not damaged in the low-side, but are they covering any damage from a previous incident?

5) From the pictures you just posted, the brake lever is anodized or powder coated, vs the clutch lever, which is stock. Could you explain that?

6) I guess a lot of my questions come from the discrepancies I see in the pictures and your description. How old are the pictures you have posted? If they are not recent (post-crash repairs) could you get some new ones showing the bike in its current state? Thanks.

I hope you don't think I am calling you a liar, or picking your bike apart in any way. I am just trying to put together a buying decision from 600 miles away. Speaking of that, where in northern Michigan is the bike located? Thanks for letting me ask so many questions.

No problem on the questions. It's a big investment and I'd rather you ask more than too little. The bike is located near Rogers City, MI.

1) I think it's more of dirt build up. I have not taken the time to scrub it to get super clean. I've ridden the past few summers with no discernable oil loss.

2) The seat is undamaged. I'm assuming its glare.

3) The front right aftermarket blinker was damaged and I had an extra OEM indicator so I put that on to get it road ready again.

4) They are not hiding any damage. The first photo is right before I started riding the trackdays. I waited to attend them until I had installed the pucks. The only time the bike has been down while I've owned it is the lowside at the track.

5) The lever is from a 99 R1. I was told they were interchangeable with the Buell and I had ordered this one on eBay. I had a nonadjustable stock replacement on initially after the lowside. My intention was the powdercoat the clutch lever to match.

6) The new photos are from this past weekend and represent the bike in its current form. The first picture is from 2004.

Wow, you weren't kidding about being in northern MI. You can freakin' shout at Canada! I sent you a PM, addressing some more specific delivery questions.

1) Probably, but would be good to know.
2) I figured.
3) Do you know the source of the aftermarket signals, so I could order one if I so desired?
4) Good to know.
5) Did it come blue like that? It matches really well, I like it. Are blue clutch levers available, or would they have to be anodized/powdercoated?
6) Thanks for the clarification.

New questions:
A) Do you have the original muffler, ecm, signals?

B) How many miles are on the bike?

C) Does the shifter rub the left side engine case?

D) When is it due for another oil change? What kind of oil do you use in the motor? tranny?

E) What is the fluid dripping out of the throttle grip in the close-up picture? Water?

F) Have you priced a replacement handlebar/bar-end, rear axle, header?

G) Are your wheels white or metal grey?

Thanks again.

Whoop, forgot one. Do you have the title, or is there still a lien on the bike?

Yeah, we're pretty close to being a yooper.

3) I've seen similar ones in bike shops under the Lockhart Philips brand.
5) The lever did come anodized blue. If the clutch lever from an R1 is also compatible then you can get matching blue levers from eBay.

A) I don't have any of the original parts. I bought the bike from a import dealership with the race kit already installed.
B) As it sits, it is under 10k, somewhere around 9960 I believe.
C) I'll double check to make sure there is no wear but I'm fairly certain it hasn't rubbed any.
D) I changed the oil in the spring and have only ridden it a few hundred miles since. The tranny fluid was changed last season. I use Mobil 1 Synthetic in both, 15-45w and 75-90w.
E) It is water, I had just washed the bike before taking the photos.
F) I did price out some of the parts. I believe I had seen the handle bar for about $15 shipped on eBay. There is a ceramic coated header for just over 200 shipped on eBay now. I've seen swing arms go for $50 and shipping. I haven't seen a price on the axle shaft however. I made up a set of my own bar end sliders and when installed you can't see any damage. I also filed and sanded the damage so it wouldn't inhibit the throttle assembly. Ironically the factory bar end slider was installed but it popped out during the low side.
G) The wheels are metal grey.

Does the bike have any mechanical issues (knocking, rattling, etc.) during hot days? I guess it doesn't get real hot that far north does it?
I think I am running out of questions here. Thanks for answering them all, and being honest about the bike's condition.

Did you get my PM? I got the OK from my wife, now I just need to hear from you then I will go talk to the bank.

Also, do you have the owners manual, tool kit, service manual, or parts manual to be included with the bike? Are there any other accessories included with the bike?
