This is a 2003 Firebolt XB9R in Battle Blue.

The bike is almost completely stock. It has the factory race kit installed (muffler, air filter, and engine computer). It has the factory touring seat, which I find is a lot more comfortable than the stock seat. I installed rider pegs off an XB9S, which are 1" lower than the XB9R pegs. I replaced the mirrors with mirrors from a 2004 and later XB9R. These mirrors are about 1" wider, so you can see what's behind you, instead of your elbows. The only non-Buell mod is from the previous owner, who replaced the rear brake reservoir with a piece of stainless steel hose. It looks kind of racy. I didn't like the look, so I bought a complete used XB9R reservoir, master cylinder, and pedal on eBay, but never got around to installing it. That comes with the bike. The previous owner also took off the lower belt guard. I think it looks better that way.

I bought this bike eight months ago with 4K miles, and have put another 4K miles on it. It has worked flawlessly for me the entire time. It starts first time, every time (I love fuel injection). No racing or crazy stuff, just trips around Florida, and some commuting to work. I'm selling it because I have a new job further from home, and I don't want to ride that far. Plus I got a KLR dual sport, which I'm riding around town on weekends and evenings.

I put new Pirelli Diablo tires on it about 2000 miles ago. I got a hole in the rear about 200 miles ago, and replaced it with a Pirelli Diablo Strada, which is the higher mileage version of the tire, because they didn't have the regular Diablo in stock.

I think the previous owner laid it down at some point, because there are some scratches on the left side of the swingarm, and the left fork adjuster. Everything else must have been replaced.

Everything on the bike works. It might need a new battery soon (but it always starts). I put synthetic Mobil oil in at 5000 miles. I have a quart of Formula+ for the transmission, but haven't put it in. The transmission shifts smoothly. I put new Buell brake pads on about 2000 miles ago ($65 for brake pads?!). It did not have a toolkit when I bought it.

The body plastics are in great shape. There really aren't any scratches on it. When I polish it with plastic spray it looks really good.

Email me at buell at davewilson.cc if you're interested. The bike is also listed on eBay as item 170112196445

Do you still have the stock seat?
I might be interested in the more comfortable one.
