I've ordered a pair of black wheels for my XB12. I'd like to sell the amber wheels. The front is perfect with no marks. The back has a small scratch (compliments of a recent tire change). $350 for the pair. I should have the black ones within two weeks and be ready to ship these.

I do not mean to be a smart-alek, but if you were going to get rid of them anyway, couldnt you have had the amber ones painted? (there is probably some really good reason which i don't know)

There is in fact a good reason. When I ordered the wheels I had in mind to keep the amber ones. The significant other thinks otherwise though.....

And actually by the time you pay to have the tires dismounted, get them painted, and mount and balanced again you pretty much spend the same amount as the difference between the new ones and what you can sell your used ones for. Much less hassle just to buy the new ones that have brand new bearings already (one less maintenance item down the road) and then you get a factory powdercoated finish too - all for around the same $$ - and you don't have any downtime while they rims are getting painted. That's my theory anyways!

snowhound,
yes, pretty much the same $$ as the difference after sale.
the bearings was a good point too.

Jon s,
The fact that ya get new wheels is a testament to understanding. Selling the old ones is a reasonable compromise.
