Check with DaveS at Appleton H-D on the sponsor's page. His prices are as good as you'll find short of a eBay or private deal on a used one and the service is great.

There are 2000 M2 manuals and 2000/2001 M2 manuals. You want to get the latter, it has a lot of updated info, specs, and procedures. I think the service manual pays for itself after one or two uses.

For your M2, check out the Knowledge Vault for the details on the upgraded primary chain tensioner, replacing the intake manifold seals, doing the CV-40 carb low speed jet mod, getting the crankcase breathers out of the airbox, and replacing the old style paper rocker arm cover gaskets.

Also make sure you're not running the primary chain and drive belt too tight (run both a looser than the SM calls for, details are in the KV).

You're welcome Jeffrey. This is a helpful kind of group. I had never touched a H-D or Buell engine 18 months ago. The Knowledge Vault and helpful people here helped me sort out my M2 very quickly. My most enjoyable and rewarding motorcycle to date. Get a service manual and use the Knowledge Vault for a good running, reliable, max enjoyment ride.

I just sold my Buell (it is already being missed) to change directions a little, I've outgrown sports bikes.

I was long time Bay Area guy and lived in Sonoma until 2001. The Pinole foothills were a great place for trail riding until they built all them damn houses on them. :>;)
