I'm in need of a used Blast head & cyl for a Bonneville project. These will be re-conditioned and used as spare back ups. Thanks & have a great day.

Thanks Thomas ... it's my understanding the XB head does not have the same mounting points to the frame as the Blast head. I'm looking to match a another setup from NRHS. The barrel needs to be a 3.50". that has not been bored yet. Any finish on the cyl is fine with me. I appreciate your helping.

There are more differences than just the mounting. If I remember right, the head is basically the Lightning head (not the XB or Thunderstorm) with different mounting lugs cast into it.

There are 2 minor obstacles to bolting on an XB head. The front mount needs to be slightly narrower for the XB and, of course, the rear heim joint mount. To mount a Thunderstorm head, I think the only thing you'd need is the heim joint mount. Lots folks have fabbed up a bracket and called it a day.

Thanks Sarodude ... That's good to know, but I prefer to use a Blast head as the valve sizes are somewhat radical between intake and exhaust per turbo.
