I just talked to the guy (1:20PM) and he told me that someone was on the way from Des Moines as we speak ... to pick it up. He asked me if he had priced it to low .... I told him .. just about right! | ||

Really?? I spoke with him last night and he didnt know too much about the bike So i called him back around 11 this morning. I'm going to be pretty upset if I get a call saying the bike got sold out from underneath me. I cant get there any earlier than Sat. We have a deal to meet then. What else did he have to say about it?? | ||

Well, I'm VERY interested too. He didn't indicate that he had committed to anyone other than the guy he said was on the way. He did say others were interested but couldn't make it til the weekend. I had cash in hand and was ready to go. I love all you Buellers, but if it's available I'm makin a run for it! | ||

I guess I'm old school and still remember when a mans word was good enough.... I have struck a deal with him and as far as I know the bike is mine on Saturday. I've been a Buell guy since the first S1 came out and I've found fellow Buellers to be pretty straight shooters. We'll see how this deal shakes out. you guys are making me nervous about the intergrity of the seller and of the users of this site. | ||

Scratch that last post. I just talked to Bryan Cooley from Indianapolis who is the bikes seller. And indeed the bike was sold oout from underneath me. I'd like to thank the Badweb member who undercut the deal. Thats pretty •••••• from both you and the maggot seller. We agreed on a price and pickup time. He said yes and I said we have a deal and youre not going to sell it right??? He said ""Yes"" I cant begin to say how disappointed I am right now. INTEGRITY, INTEGRITY INTEGRITY!!!!!!!!!!! | ||

I totally understand your feelings Diem. I talked to him earlier too and he said the guy was a half hour away and he'd call me if the guy didn't take it. Soooooo, that was about an hour and a half ago. Like I said earlier, when I talked to the guy yesterday he indicated that he had a couple of guys interested but that they couldn't get there til the weekend and that he hadn't committed. So, I think the problem was with the seller. I doubt that the other buyer was even aware that there was another agreement, I know I wasn't until I saw your post. I was careful to include the words "if it's still available" in my last post. Also, I'm quite sure, the seller didn't even know what he had. Rest assured, I feel the same way as you do about fellow Buellers. I went to look at the S1 that's listed in Cycletrader.com in Oklahoma. Talked to the guy .... liked what I heard. Drove down by Tulsa to find out the bike was •••• !!! But, the guy clearly wasn't a "Bueller' He was a bullshittin kid. Sorry you missed the bike .... | ||

Thanks man for the sympathy. I guess I should feel good that I didnt cancel my patients today and trek 5 hrs down to INDY and get there to find out that some a$$hole already sold it. I guess the part that is the real kick in the nuts is that last night the seller didnt know any of the details about the bike so I told him I'd call him 1st thing in morning when he was standing next to the bike. When I talked with him at 10am we agreed on a price and pickup. I said to him, and this is a quote "We have a deal right??" He said "Yes. I I'm not going to sell it." I said "Consider it sold and I cant wait to meet you saturday. I'll have the cash in hand so please bring the title with you." I dont even think the guy was going to call me and let me know he sold it. If I was a degenerate thug with nothing better to do, I would go down and kick his a$$. He was dumb enough to tell me where he was going to be staying in Terre Haute this weekend to meet some relatives. Fortunately for him, my life means more to me than a $3600 S1W. It probably had a bad motor........Any rationalization to dull the pain. | ||

I'm bummin' that I didn't get this listed earlier. It took a couple of days before I had the ad, time, and a keyboard together all at the same time. Rationalize that someone new will soon join the board now that they're introduced to Buell. | ||

There's not one on e-bay that I can find .... there's a S1 but not a S1W. Besides the one we're talking about here was a S1W with 5000mi Force/V&H/carb. Only flaw (according to the seller was a paint bubble on tank) for an unheard of $3600. Unless I'm naive that's a deal. | ||

I'll do it! You're lucky, many more to chose from the further east ya are! Dont seem like many Buells have made their way west.? Why is that, I feel like the only one most of the time. I even went to the supposedly 'biggest H-D dealer in the world' in Vegas, and all they had was 4 Buells, and a pair of Buell pants. | ||

keep an eye out here in the next 2 months, there will be another just like it just as cheap! i have been snaked 2 or 3 times just like this. people selling bikes will take the first money shown to them unless they are buellers like us ... integrity means more to the people who love these bikes and the people that keep them... that guy probably knew you said you were coming but didnt know for sure, i dont blame him, people are wishy washy! they say they are coming but never do...first come, first serve! thats how these idiots roll! i give first dibbs to the buellers here then to the free market! you gotta be on the ball! its that kind of market! sucky but true! dude, youll find another ! i hope so...i considered it too, by time i thought about it, this was a done deal by someone... | ||

Deals are out there...last year I just happened to be scanning e-bay at 3am when a 1998 Molten Orange and Nuclear Blue S1 was listed at a buy it now price of $2900.00. I hit that button right off. The pics looked good but was still worried til the bike arrived. I was shocked when I finally got to see it..Was better looking than a bright diamond, Mikuni, ALL the Banke stuff, Corbin seat, the works. Best deal I had made in alot of years. What was weird was that the guy said he needed the money cause he has a new Sporty on order and he worked at the dealership..LOL | ||

That sucks.I know as I have had a couple of Buell deals I thought were done deals only to be disappointed. Had one in Socal that sounded real similar to your deal.Agreed on a price and when I e-mailed for address to send money, I did not hear back for a while.When I finally did it was already gone.Very disappointing,esp if it was someone from on here(as I suspect mine was also.) | ||

Jsunstar yeah the S1's are easy to find and the S1W's aren't really that rare ... the whole issue of this bike and this thread was that the bike was a low mileage S1W apparently in near mint condition for only $3600. That, my friend, you don't find everyday. | ||
