Do you have an ECU that's had the mapping corrected on it, or a race ECU for sale? I recently purchased a 2000 X-1 that still has one of the ugly behaving ECUs still installed. | ||

Mike, the 99 and early 00 injected bikes had issues with the ECU mapping that had Buell scrambling to make corrections. It was characterized by stable throttle engine surging, usually at slow speed but could also cause stuttering when the throttle was rolled on rapidly. Some folks referred to it as "lean surge." This X1 I have does that very thing and I have gone through everything else and only recently became aware of this early ECU mapping problem. Your 01 should be good as far as I know. Do you have any of the problems I described with your bike? | ||
