FS: 2004 XB12R Firebolt

Decided to sell the Buell. This hurts as I still love the bike, but I just have too many bikes so I've decided to sell it. It is a very reliable bike, has had no problems, and handles really well (don't believe the naysayers). Below is a description.

2004 Buell XB12R Firebolt (Red):
Pirelli Diablo Corsa tires. The front has very little wear, the rear is brand new. Transverse steering damper from the Kosco Formula Extreme team (as used on Michael Barnes 2004 bike)with 26 position Hyperpro linear damper. Buell Race Airfilter (K&N). Modified airbox for more flow. Dobeck Racing Techlusion TFI piggy back ECM (more fuel). Jardine Titanium exhaust. Exhaust servo emulator circuit (eliminates Buell servo motor). Lyndall racing carbon kevlar brake pads front and rear. Aluminum axle sliders front and rear. Buell frame sliders. Smoke Double Bubble screen. NGK Iridium plugs. Tech mounts radar detector mount and fused wiring for Escort X50. Spare tail section and airbox cover in red. Buell pillon Tailbag.

This is a very light bike and the mods and removing the rear pegs dropped about 20 lbs (measured on a scale) so the bike weights about 444 lbs wet with a full tank-the same as a GSXR1000. It is very flickable

The bike has 18,000 miles, has been meticulously maintained including oil and filter changes every 2500 miles with Syn 3 synthetic oil and factory filters.

The drive belt was changed at 14000 miles under warranty as a preventive measure due to wear. The clutch cable was replaced at 12,000.

The bike has never been crashed and has been to only one trackday at SOW.

I'll throw in the factory service manual and a pair of redline stands plus all the stock parts.

asking $6,750.00

The bike is located in San Diego, CA.

Please tell me which dealer replaced your belt under warranty... I want my free belt. This is a great price for everything listed. You should have no trouble selling it. I'm going to print this out and show it to my neighbors and I'll let you know if I get any takers.

Hey thanks! I'll post up a pic as soon as I finish changing the oil. As for the belt, I was getting ready to do my first ever trackday (only one on the xb) at Streets of Willow and I had just changed my rear tire and decided to check the belt while I had the guard off. When I rolled the wheel backwards I could see a crack under every tooth open up as the belt bent back over the idler pulley. Some of the teeth even had cracks running underneath the teeth which you could see from the side. I called around and located a belt at San Diego Harley Davidson (Downtown shop). I then talked to the service manager and brought it in for them to inspect. I told him my concern was that it would break on the track and be a hazard-his mechanic agreed after inspecting it. Basically the mechanic indicated that the teeth would probably strip off during the trackday. The service manager then called Buell warranty authorization and made a case for me while I waited. I think it really came down to the service manager being on my side and making a good case to Buell and mentioning safety concerns. Then it was up to Buell and they made the right decision. Of course I was friendly, but still made a good case for why it should be covered before an actual break occurred.

Kudos to the Kettner Blvd SD Harley service department BTW!

I just finished a complete oil/filter/primary oil/primary chain adjustment. Also I dropped the oil pump and checked the gear while rotating the engine-not a mark on it, looks brand new so the engine ought to be good for a least 50,000 miles and beyond. I repacked the Jardine as well.

xbolt12 - gorgeous reason to sell - congrats! though i have one of those too (see profile pic), but seem to be in the bad habit of acquiring rather than divesting motorcycle assets. ALMOST bought a racebike tonight but the deal fell though....

Must be cold up there. I lived in Mound, MN, for several years so I know Stillwater and some of those places. Just don't have the time or space to keep/maintain multiple bikes (still have a YZ400F and my kids bikes).
