Basically stock.
Pearl Ice White bodywork.
One ding on the front of the fairing below the corner of the headlight where some punks threw a chunk of truck tire at me on a county highway, doesn't look structural, just a ding in the paint not too big by my reconing.
Around 25,000 miles or so.
Extra spare new seat, existing seat is fairly fine though.
Newer rear D208ZR tire.
Stock exhaust.
Race style c/f air filter assembly, mounted level to the ground instead of angled up and it is slightly trimmed on the top to clear the tank.
Extra set of stock handlebars, one broke at the weld, still have them in a box someplace.
Spare original dash someplace that someone chopped a clock hole into.
Carb needs a rebuild, leaks a little overflow and drips onto the frame while riding some.

Hoping to get $4,500. Will talk horse trades, just not for a horse. Might take a boat as partial trade depending on the boat and if it floats.

Pics of the bike are floating around the site here someplace in the archives. I'll rummage around and see if I can find them.

Located a bit north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Can probably help with delivery to some extent if it isn't snowing or icy out. Otherwise I have a small trailer it should fit diagonally into. Shoot, it you bring a boat you can make an offer on the little trailer too since the boat would have to go where the trailer currently is. I type too much so I'll shut up now.

And, no, I won't take $3,500 for it. For that price it can sit in the garage and I won't mind a bit. ; )

Best to post here if interested since I don't check my linked email too often, and lately I don't check the site much on the weekends.

Bid early, bid often, if it don't sell I may post it up again in another 6 months or so, or not.

Oh, ps, I do not have any of the signature series stuff that came with some of the S2's. That stuff is probably sitting in a box in one of the previous owner's garages.

(Sometimes you just gotta do what you just gotta do, that's life sometimes.)
=====
pps, if you'd rather talk about the 2000 M2 I have then we can talk about that instead, gas tank negotiable.

Found a pic:

(ignore the guy looking like he's trying to hotwire the bike, just getting the disc lock out of it's pouch or something)

spyder,
yep, not trying to sell it too hard, am I. ; )

I'd rather sell the M2.

(Actually I'd rather sell a couple of houses but the market is kind of flat right now, so oh well.)

hey mike, i think the 95 s2 is the best looking buell out there...its the begining of buell history! thats what makes it special! not aftermarket crap (although i do like my billet!)

i know they dont sell for much on this board but they are worth every penny of the 4500. if you sold it locally, youd easily see the 4500. this board is tough because of supply and demand...too many buells, too many riders on suzuki's!
i have one and I wouldnt part with it! I love my s2...
besides, thats a pretty hard talk from a guy that rides a suzuki...haha!

Gotta side with Tsi on this one.Sorry Mike, but its been modified--that aircleaner is the pits--,the carb leaks, and it has nothing to set it apart from the pack, none of the signature stuff no race pipe etc.Check to see prices recently.Used bike market is terrible these days if you are selling.

The cleaner side:

The truck tire chucked chunk ding:

(I believe the thrower turned 18 this year, not that I've been keeping track or anything.)

The dirtier side:

(The leak will get de-leaked this winter sometime if we don't sell and change houses.)

Seat height comparison, 2004 XL 1200C in the foreground, S2 in the middle, M2 in the background, camera eye about level with the seats - sortof:

(I've been wanting to take a pic like this for some time now just to show the differences.)

The 2000 M2:

(Yeah, I don't wash my bikes often enough, come on over if anyone wants to detail them for me though. ; ) )

Dash and tank:

1200Custom:

(If we end up keeping this thing it will get the controls moved back to mid-position, a slightly higher passenger backpad, a 2-into-1 exhaust of some sort (RB maybe), a standard or S set of rear shocks, maybe a 19" front wheel, and a little engine adjustment. Steers a little heavy the way it sits now, but not too bad to ride if I use the passenger pegs once in awhile.)(ps, it's for sale too, actually first, but that's a different story.)

Which one would you ride today?

(Not near as many as some folks have, looking to reduce the stable by a count of one.)(The S2 sidestand is sitting on a chunk of 2x4 for the pics.)

They are what they are, and I want what I want. I know $4,500 is a bit steep for the BadweB market, but if every S2 owner held themselves to a higher price then either the offer prices would rise or fewer S2's would change hands - either option would be fine.

I wouldn't mind finding a stock air filter assembly, but would have to do something with the stock backing plate on one. Don't know if there's an aftermarket a/c assembly that replicates the stock angle of the stock S2 filter, or I don't remember seeing one at the moment.

I'll have to check which handlebar side broke, I think it was the left side, there's pics on the site here someplace showing the broken bits. I'll check in awhile to see if I can find the link to them.

B'Dan,
we've got a Dodge 1/2ton cab and a half, I think it's a 1998 model, gas, that is working for us at the moment. I think I remember seeing pics of your diesel posted on the site here, I'll keep it in mind in case the Dodge's auto-o/d tranny takes a dump on us like a relative's just did to them.

And I don't mind opinions, even if they say it leaks and is missing the special extra bits. I'm just throwing this up here to say I tried and to generate a little discussion, and if I keep it to maybe track down a couple of special extra bits along the way.

And, yeah, I haven't mowed the alley side grass for over a month or three. You should have seen the weeds in July, or the grass over by the fence right now. : )

Bry(Loki),

Yep, it was the left side that broke, sorry.

Off topic, but yes, the Dodge 1/2 TON, and *GAS* 3/4 ton trannys SUCK. My truck is on it's 3rd with 104,000 on it. The Diesel 3/4 ton and up, and Gas 1 ton and up have *MUCH* better trannys.

THE BIKE $ 4 $ IS ONE OF THE BEST BARGAINS OUT THERE.
THE DAY OF THE $3500.00 IS FADING FAST..THEY ARE BEING ALL TORN UP FOR CRAP CHOPPERS.
I'M NOT SAYING HIS IS WORTH THAT MUCH, JUST THAT, THEY ARE BECOMING TOUGH TO FIND IN SWEET CONDITION, NOT ALL MOD. OUT

The XL is now out of our garage and back at the dipcrap relative's place. Put a tank or two of gas thru it during the short time we sort of had it. All the rest is dirty laundry as they say and money down the drain. (guess that's what we get for trying to help a relative thru hard times - bit in the arse and unappreciated and broker for the helping) Still would like to sell/swap one of the Buells off for a cruiser of some sort. Guess I'm going to have to wait for the herd of availables to be thinned out a bit more. See y'all in a similar thread in the next six months or so.

You can still order the stock backing plate for the S2, it's about $25, the new ones are ABS. Nallin sells a very nifty machined aluminum one for about $100, about $140 with filter. American Sport Bike also has an aftermarket aluminum backing plate. I've got an old fiberglass backing plate (the 1996 original) with a crack or two, repairable, I'll give you for postage; PM me.

Mike,
The NRHS/American Sport Bike billit plate is the bomb!
I have one on my S2 and M2.
They fit perfect and are VERY solid.
Highly recommended, never have to worry about the filter again.

I have the NRHS unit. In addition to being supremely built, it is pure ART. Typical Aaron.

I have a spare displayed over my desk.

Court,
I agree, it was a shame to cover it up even if it was with CF..
