At the risk asking a dumb question - on the rear wheel axle on the left side ( opposite the side with the nut ) there is a cap on the end with a hole through it. I am wondering if there should be a pin or other locking fastener on there ? If not what is that hole for? Most bikes have a lock of some type or another. So I am just making sure. Thanks | ||

And No, nothing is supposed to stay in that hole. I figured.......but better safe than sorry. When I went to pick it up they were trying start it and then but a new plug and a battery in it. So I am just making sure. | ||

Your bike was probably hard to start because it had sat with fuel in the carb over a long period and it gummed it up. We oughta meet up some time, so I can give you FIRST hand pointers on Blast ownership and upkeep, etc. ~Ralph (Message edited by Ralphthe3rd on February 12, 2005) | ||

Ralph will never stear you too far wrong and he's been having a lot of fun on his bike, and being an ex dirttracker, his lines through the curves would be an education to follow and observe - lol - we talk - you could do worse than Ralph as a riding budy - lol - Enjoy the bike and the ride and all good things in time that will ensue because of it - then ride it like ya stole it! I will heed any advice you both offer. I do live somewhat near Ralph so I will probably meet up with him someday. I envy the scenery in your neck of the woods though. | ||

Ralph and I agree on most things we just creatively disagree on a few things - lol - its easier over the phone to talk than the web because you get the true meaning easier - Ralphs's a touchy sort, and I'm great at hitting someone's button - so it gets entertaining on the net - "...Ahem ! The hole is just there so you can stick a phillips screwdriver or something thru it, to keep the whole axle from turning when you are tightening or removing the nut. | ||

...but it might also be useful if you wanted to attach something there, like mounting the license plate chopper style or something. | ||

Are the rear rotor bolts a one time use item also like the pulley bolts, or can they be used more then once. The reason I ask is I am thinking about entering a burnout contest with an old rim and tire. After the contest I will be switching the old rim and tire out with my good rim and tire. I am purchasing two sets of pulley bolts, but I was only going to purchase one set of rotor bolts, just to have on hand incase, unless I need to replace them. | ||

Burnout contest if it happens is july 29 at bikerbobs harley davidson. There is a cruise down telegraph that day and they are having a shindig. Last year they had a burnout contest. I am still waiting to hear if they are having it again this year or not. If they do Spidey may be coming down for it. Your more then welcome to come on down if you want. Baby was born June 10 at 3:37 am. I will send you some pics if you want. or you can check the stormfronts section for the pic I posted there. I also posted one on quick board under hay daves. I plan on burning the tire till it blows. hehehe | ||

Theoretically speaking, if you didnt have to account for the swing arm, or if I heavily modified mine, whats the largest tire size that would fit on the Blasts rear wheel? | ||

Forgot, I measured the axle size to .776 and its a buddy found a few places that read 19mm axle (Which is good because I think I was off a bit o.0 But learning experience. which would also be 3/4 axle hope this is able to help someone else out  |
