Update - after careful re-inspection the caliper was not sitting square on the rotor so the bottom part of the left side brakepad was rubbing. A little grinding down of the pad at contact spot solved the rubbinh issue, noise went away and a trip to Daytona was uneventful.
New caliper arrived today. So, now we gotta take it all apart just one more time (hopefully) put new rubber on and replace the caliper.

What tire you putting on?
I just took the rear tire off the little kids Blast so he could polish the rim, then I am putting on an Avon AM26 in stock size.
The old Avon AM 63 in over size had a bulge in it! I am thinking he hit a pot hole he forgot about..... |

Maggie is running the Pirelli ss66 oversized in the rear and the Diablo oversized in the front - she even runs these on dirt!

Swampy - hello up there....glad to hear it's riding season again. I heard once that Ohio comes to Michigan in the spring and steals the roads, one piece at a time...could be that hole was a result of road-snachers
EZ - hope you guys are fairing well with all the rain, saw what happened at Big Sur, man it was just gone... Would like to get back out to CA and ride again one of these next couple of years.
Running MT75 on front, got more than 12,000'ish miles and although it still had good rubber it started cupping, so off it went. Replaced with same.
ST66 on rear, first time with it and so far I have 9882 and there is still good rubber, love that tire!!!! Have a replacement ready to go, just waiting until I get a little more use out it.
And yes, I ride on dirt & clay when the call of the wild strikes and/or we just get lost and the adventure is more fun than turning around. |

My best recommendation - Galfer Sinstered Brake Pads - 140 - CF front - everything else has been second, I've tried most others and had to replace my disc several times due to excessive wear by the pads - lol - but I did all my testing on my red bike, it having a stock ssbraided line and a forkbrace - making stopping a much straighter experience on really hard stops.

EZ, do you have the part #s for the Galfer front brakes? Below is the Galfer part number for the Blast that I have found.
Braided Brake Lines
Front : FK003D333
Rear: FK003D333R
Brake Pads
Front
#1054 SEMI METALLIC COMPOUND: FD140G1054
Rear
#1054 SEMI METALLIC COMPOUND: FD103G1054
#1375 SINTERED RACE COMPOUND: FD103G1375
I would guess the Front Sintered pad would be #1375 SINTERED RACE COMPOUND: FD140G1375, but I haven't found any one listing it. In the USA that is. |

Not to nit pick so much but do we have a Brand Part number to several brake pads that will work front/back for a blast?
I am looking at the link Imblasted posted of the front brake pads at 14 dollars and am considering buying them but also need some rear brake pads (I can always buy them locally just figured I would ask if theres a master list of brakes that can be used first)

Kevlar Compound 1532 Brake Pads Galfer FD140G1532 fits the Blast front - my rear have never needed replacing.
