I'm fiending for my bike all summer long... it's killing me to pass it in the garage and not be able to ride it. I've got new parts to go in as in an entire top end. I got to notching the Daytona Twin Tec timing rotor cup and made a mess of it and I've not tried again as yet. Has anyone notched that ignition rotor

Yes, I have. What’s your issue?

I'm having trouble notching that timing rotor with an accuracy that I'm comfortable with... any thoughts?

I'm sure I'm overthinking it but theirs gotta be a consistent method for augmenting that new rotor... perhaps a special tool

Picture? Are you trying to cut a new window or just hammer a new notch that fits in the camshaft?
Do you have both a Blast rotor and an XL twin rotor?

That's the recommended rotor for the Daytona Twin Tec 1005 along with the 3 ohm mini-coil. I massacred one already and don't wanna keep wasting money buying new ones. It's just the notch for the camshaft in trying to create

The bikes sat for over two years because I needed this done to install everything else I purchased around it--including Fueling Cams, collapsible pushrod tubes, new ported head, and 515 Blast kit. I'm eager to get riding again and want a reliable bike for back and forth to work everyday

So you’re using the 2 window XL timing cup then
(not a Blast or XB cup).

First take timing cup and a suitable punch and flatten the cam/rotor notch. Since you have an extra cam, use that to put a new notch in (use an appropriate size punch or screwdriver.
One of the windows should match the Blast window, BUT I’ll check when I get home!!

Are you using Blast, XL (sportster) or XB (Buell) cams?

I can’t seem to find the pictures I know are in Badweb that would help.
You might want to check out (BRO) Buell riders online. They’ve probably done a re-notch much more resent than I have. Twin-Tec instructions are pretty clear, they just don’t show you a side by side pic.
If you take the time to think about it and sort it out, you’ll have a much better understanding of how it all works. Very simple really, ONCE you wrap your head around it.
If I can find a stock Blast rotor, I’ll take a picture of the 2 side by side.

I've got B50 cams I believe and I didn't retrofit the XB head which is probably a major fail. Yeah this rotor Does have two windows. Hey I'm at (646)234-4136. Some things are easier to just say

Depending on exactly what you did to the head and making sure you don’t run too lean, the Blast will be very reliable. It does quite take a beating!

Sorry it’s taking so long to get back to you. I’ve been very busy getting my family car back on the road. And hadn’t the mental capacity to do anything else. I bought the timing cup along with 1005 modules and 3 ohm coil. Can you instruct me base on that.

I will certainly help you, its actually pretty simple, but I’ve got to reread the instructions as it been awhile since I’ve done one.

Do you have the instructions that came with the module?
