The boot is getting so hot that its melting the heat seems to be comeing through the carb boot from motor any ideas on whats wrong thx for help |

That's not possible without there being other issues present. You'd have serious running problems if you were melting the boot. It's probably not a stock boot. Replace it. |

I orderd a new boot it will be here in 5 to 7 days but for now i made one out of a coolant hose and it seems to be running fine now intake manifold 45 that goes to boot seems like its still getting really hot mabe its supose to i got a reading of 219 degrees but least it running now thx for ur help |

Running lean makes it run hot. If you have a bad boot, then it's running lean. I wouldn't put too much stock in a temperature reading (you are talking about an area that is going to see a lot of heat). Too much information can be a bad thing!!. You should concern yourself with how it's running. Even a Blast that's suffering "knock and ping" isn't going to melt a boot. I've heard people melt pistons and not the boot. I've run a Blast in the harshest of heat conditions and not melted a boot. Chances are it wasn't a stock boot or suffered from age or being soaked in oil or some contamination or combination there of. |
