I guess I'll know more as soon as I open it up and have a look, but does anyone have any ideas so far? Earlier this week I put in a new stator. I took it on 4 short test rides, longest about 10 miles. All seemed good and everything checked out correct. I changed the oil and filt and washed it. After the wash, when I turned the key, nothing. Battery voltage dropped significantly so I removed the battery charged it overnight. This morning, the battery had a good charge so I tried it again and got the same (no lights no clicks) results. It's not reading any voltage while the battery is installed? I reread the svc manual for stator check and the stator checks out good. The fuses all test good too?

Regulator, needed to be replaced with stator, or water in ignition connector onside of bike, make sure plug wire tight as well.

well, this is not good. Something must have got wet and shorted when I tried to start the bike yesterday. I charged the battery, 12.5v, put it in the bike, it would not read any volts. Took the battery out of the bike, it read 10.2v. I have the battery charging again.

EZ, I have a new voltage regulator that I'll put in and see what happens.

it is a dead short to ground, in the starter.
I'll try to get a starter off of Ebay.
