can you straight pipe these? I know you can but what other changes would need to be made? Jets ? If we got with stack air filter and straight pipe would be to needing different jets yet?

I would probably go one step up on the jetting and try a "torque cone". Probably a 180 main.
But actually tuning the carb for it would be a better idea. I'm not a big fan of going richer "just because".
Straight pipe is really f'n loud! Baffle it and you'll kill performance. A little experimentation may be in order or maybe EZ knows someone who actually runs a straight exhaust. It's not the best set up and really grabs the attention of LEO's!!!
Did I mention it's loud!!!!

While it's not a straight pipe and it has a nice stepped header design, the D&D system (which I have) has nothing/zip/nada inside it. It's an empty can.

It's loud (as Erik has said before).

Jetting for me is 46/175 - but that's with the Superboot/intake and the Yost needle and emulsion tube.

And as long as your sticking with stock cam and piston - though you could go to the B-50/SE cam - that exhaust will maximise the stock potential - after that get a Jardine header - keep the D&D can, use stock bottom front hardware, and that will work for a performance aftermarket exhaust. To do better you would have to go custom - like the header exhaust I am running.
