Have an 05 with only 3,000 miles. it has always had a small drip from the clutch cable. Just recently oil has begun leaking profusely out of the oil fill. What can be the cause? The oil tank isn't supposed to be pressurized, is it? When I shut the engine off and loosen the dipstick, oil immediately starts flowing out.

Sounds as if the oil has been overfilled.

OK, I drained a couple ounces so that the level just reaches the tip of the dipstick with engine cold and bike level.
Started the bike and after about 20 seconds the leak started. The dipstick was firmly tightened yet oil was flowing from the fill hole.
Then when I re-checked the level and it was full to the top.
And it was frothy.
What is going on?

You have to check the oil level when the engine is hot and the oil up to temp or else you will overfill. This is also listed in the owner's manual but most bikes bought used don't have that with them anymore.

From the beginning: the Blast oil capacity is 2.25 qts. At an oil change it takes 1.5 qts (appx 3/4 qt remains in the crankcase). Between lines on the dipstick is about 8 ounces (not 1 quart).
A Blast cold, after sitting awhile (1 day, a week or ?) and the oil will not be visible in the oil fill hole-all you will see is dry frame. Warm it up to hot and it will show full.

So you may still be dealing with a Blast that is overfull, especially if it was checked cold or anywhere not fully warmed up (hot).
The oil "tank" is pressurized. It's a low pressure, but it's still there. Your best hope might be to warm the engine up, then drain it. Then add one quart of oil. Yes that seems a ridiculously small amount, but if you don't pull the oil filter, it will probably show full. DONT WORRY though, it will have enough oil. Between that one quart you add and what's left in the crankcase and oil filter, you will have enough oil. It will probably show full I reiterate, because it is what seems a very low oil capacity engine and an understandable cause for concern.
After all this, let us know how it goes. While there are cause for symptoms such as your besides over full oil, they are very rare.

Well I have now drained almost a quart from the tank and after about a two minute idle, no leakage.
It is too wet to ride today, so that will have to wait.
So does oil actually drain back into the crank case while it is sitting?
