Hey all,

I think I've got a problem with my Neutral Sensor. The dash doesn't show I'm in Neutral when I am, and if I let off the clutch while in Neutral the bike dies.

I'd like to fix this problem myself since I know how dealerships can handle electrical issues, but have any of you worked on an issue like this before? I'm not even sure where I should start looking on the bike (I have no service manual for this bike).

Any help would be more than appreciated,

Thank you!

P.s. I know that cutting the kickstand safety off the bike would allow me to bypass the problem (while not fixing the Neutral light issue), but I would like to fix it properly if possible.

Thanks again.

that switch is behind the front pulley. Hard to get to. Still doable - have done it.

Ez,

Thanks for the reply. So you're talking about the front pulley in front of the belt?

What's the process like to get to that? Do I have to pull the belt/belt cover all off to access it? Is it easy to find once I'm in there?

You know those long needlenose pliers they sell - you'll need a set of those - of course the plastic comes off - locking needlenose pliers are useful as well. if you have to take the pulley off, I have found that a catspaw prybar 12 to 14" - use the cats paw part to hold a gear tooth and rest the prybar part under the swing-arm - to lock in place to get bolts on and off - though top to of swing-arm to get bolts on - lol - sometimes they just come loose and you can get them back in with the needlenose. Check wiring to there as well first.
