Replaced the rocker box gasket on the Blast last night. Buttoned it all back up, everything went A OK... Now noticed that I put the gasket on upside down, the lettering/part number and word FRONT is facing down towards the intake side of the head, you can read it looking up towards the carb. Anyway, everything lined up and bolts went back in and torqued. Front what I can tell on the pictures of the gasket 16800-84A, it looks symmetrical and no different side to side... I DID NOT run the bike yet at all... Is it ok to take it all back apart, and flip and reuse the gasket, even after it has been torqued to spec? Or do I need a new one... Thanks! | ||

looking at a picture of the gasket, it's identical looking at it left to right, and if I recall both sides top and bottom where the same when it came to the rubber coating etc, I'm not sure if it matters what side you install it on...  | ||

That's front on a rear cylinder! I wouldn't take it apart, unless you have reason to believe it did not line up perfectly. This type of gasket (or most types) should not be re-used unless necessary. Can be, but once torqued down, it's not good to 'un torque' it. | ||

Thank Gearheaderiko, I did in fact however flip the gasket over. After several days and several hundred km's of riding, everything looks high and dry  |
