So I've got a shift lever in great condition - reasonably shiny and with original packaging - just the lever, mind you, will need a toe peg. New these are upwards of $90, no kidding, but that includes the peg. I found a used one listed for $55. So how about $40 shipped and paypal'd (i.e. I pay shipping and the paypal fee)?

Also available is a pair of well used and battered headlight brackets. If you have access to powder-coating, these would be awesome. They are 100% usable, and they are the version with the extra threading to support the large windshield if you install one. They need TLC. How about $10 shipped/PPd for the set.

FYI: those brackets aren't any different, they are just stock brackets. Nothing special on them to support a large windshield.

Erik - beg to differ as I bought brand new ones. These (the old ones) ARE different - they are a different REV number on the part number as well.

They have a longer threaded portion than the brand new ones have (that I ordered). I know you know much more about this bike than most of us - so take this in the right spirit. But having both brackets side by side, it was easy to tell the difference. It's that small raised "puck" looking portion on both mounting holes.

That longer threaded portion for the receiver covered the end of the tall windshield riser stabilizer arm hardware (the longer machine screw). I still have the whole shebang to compare side by side.

Nope. They are just the 2000 model year ones, they aren't special for the bat cycle windshield. Later brackets had loose nuts instead of 'nuts' welded to the headlight/fly screen brackets.

Although the 2000 and 2010 (non ottoman model) Blasts are virtually identical, they had very minor changes throughout the years. Must parts are interchangeable.
The 2000 Blast did have many unique features, though most are subtle in nature. The aforementioned is one of them

I did own the bat cycle windshield and made note of it's fitment. It was a testament to Buells genius as how simple the large windshield was adaptable to the Blast.

Yep - I'm being misunderstood....didn't say they were "special" for the long windshield - just said that they had extra thread area for those mounts. Call them nuts if you want to - they are integrated into the bracket. Since I have both sets of brackets and both sets of windscreens, I think I can say that as I'm looking right at them.

Not wanting to pick a fight here - but it needs to be said that these are NOT the same as a new set you would buy today. There IS additional thread area - and it works well for the tall windscreen install as the machine screws require no other hardware to attach to the bracket.

Just different, not better. After a year or two of riding in the rain, those welded 'nuts' will break off on removal and you'll be using vise grips or a hack saw to remove your windshield.
So if you want to argue they're better, that's your opinion, but not fact. Doesn't make a difference if mounting the windshield. The welded 'nuts' make it easier, but not better. There is a reason they stopped using that bracket.
If you'd like I'll pull all the different headlight brackets out of my 'stock' and photograph and detail the changes. But we have a thread here for that and you can note the changes there too!
