Thanks to all of you Blastards out there my little "Trooper" is up and running after many bouts of gray hair and name calling. I traded for a 2007 Blast and it was a Rider's Edge Bike in Volusia County, FL. It was just dead. I could not get him going for nothing, but after a lot of suggestions here and still no luck, I took him to a certified mechanic, who also had some problems with him. It turns out that he reversed the diodes and that got Trooper going, but then he would die out just about every half mile while moving. Trooper would fire again after stopping and cutting the power at the ignition. I never lost the headlight or other power and found this very disturbing. Now that it was stopped it would fire right back up and go another half mile and die again. It took me an hour to get home from a twelve mile one way trip. I thought this was related to the carb and was getting ready to tear it apart. However, there was no sputter or idle problems. So I did not touch the carb, tested the boot with the starter fluid which produced no indications of cracks or leaks in the boot. I then poured over hours of these bogs and kept reading that people suggested disabling the kick stand and clutch safeties. So today I took out the safeties and soldered the connections closed. I finally was able to put the Diodes in correctly and Trooper is up and running like brand new. Needless to say he'll stay in the stable for a while! I just wanted to THANK YOU GUYS for putting in the comments that helped me and a lot of other people with these cool little bikes.
