Hell Everyone... This is my first post to the forum so please forgive me if this has been covered before. I recently broke off one of the exhaust studs from my cylinder head. Before doing any reading I decided to go after the broken stud with a drill and EZ Out... as I later read, this is a very bad idea. I did break off the EZ Out inside the drilled stud and as a result have now taken the head off the jug and had it machined at a local shop. The machinist was able to fix by installing a helicoil and I should be back in business soon.

I am the third owner of the bike and and beside needing to get the exhaust stud drilled out, I seemed to have a leak at the rocker box gasket as well as the base gasket where the jug meets the crank case. basically I have it taken apart down to the crank case and am now in the marked for new gaskets all the way back up. I am having trouble however locating a "top end gasket kit" for the Blast. Does anyone out there know what the part number for the full top end gasket kit would be.... or maybe if I should be looking at a Harley kit? In the event I need to look for each gasket separately, part numbers for those would be great as also.

Any advice you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

XB9 top end kit and Sportster kits are the same. Pre 2007. Its much cheaper to buy a kit, even if it contains way more parts than you'll need!

PS Welcome! For some reason I've had a bad time getting on Badweb today, sorry for the late response.

Thanks for the info. I checked it out and navigated to the motor drive train section for the blast. This may be a dumb question but are the blast and XB compatible with regard to motor parts...specifically gaskets. I realize that the xb is a V-Twin but the gasket kits in the Blast section reference the XB.....am I on the right track?

Thanks again!

As far as the top end, yes, interchangeable. Many others also as well as some parts. Many XB parts are upgrades, but not exactly a direct replacement.
