You see on this link

http://soliddesign.net/~tom/DSCN4757.JPG

a nice yellow piping on the Sergeant seat on a yellow Blast. Question: my Blast is black and the decals are white, after market ones that say "BUELL" I am wondering if the tie-in with the decals is enough to make a white piping look good or if I should have black piping?

What does the jury here say?

AT,

That is a really pretty blast, I like the matching piping on the seat.

While I really like my Sargent's saddle with the yellow piping ... ... if I had a black Blast!, I'd go for the all black look and then wear really bright helmet, jacket, and other protective gear all the time. Get an all black saddle with part textured and part smooth like mine, but with black piping. Another benefit is that it will then work on any color Blast!

Good advice. I'll take it. Is that seat leather or vinyl or a combination?

And what is that shifter mod you have with some foam rubber?

Saddle is all vinyl ... can't remember the name of the guy I talked to at Sargent's but he was very helpful and the saddle is very comfortable. You might have him look up my order ... Tom Batt, Winchester, Indiana

Sargent's rebuild was around $350 including return shipping charges. Seems yellow trim was $20 extra ...

The "shifter mod" is simply some foam secured around the black rubber shift lever with wire ties to try and keep my new white New Balance shoes from getting blackened ...didn't work well

E-mail me at tom@country-gentleman.com if you'd like more info or conversation about the saddle.

Titusand ... when I sent out my original saddle, my main complaints were that it was way too soft and tended to make me slide forward and down. When I first rode it upon return, I thought I was still wanting to slide down and forward ... wrong ... you have to experience the bike at speed ... the wind pushes you back somewhat. The saddle is great. Nice and firm. Be careful putting it back on your bike ... it will flex less.

Hello, I have talked with Sargents and my saddle is down there now. They at first were going to charge me only $225 for a leather recover, but he said your seat was "dished" or some such thing. They said the notes on the computer are not complete. Do remember any more details about how the foam was changed?

It is August and I have finally done a longish ride on the new saddle as mentioned in this thread. I can wholeheartedly claim that it was worth every penny. I rode 3 hours stopping only for gas, and no discomfort whatsoever.

Reading back through I can't really figure out what you had done. What did you have done?

I mailed a Sergent's a standard height seat, and they refoamed it and dished it, and put on patterned vinyl.
