I was moving and experience a close call bike theft twice now at my new apartment. Anyhow, I made some good appearance mods. I got new handlebar mirrors! (the original mirrors were destroyed during the theft attempt) So, the issue here is that ever since I bought the bike used 5 months ago, it had 30miles per gallon. I thought it was supposed to be like that since it was a single cylinder, but now I know its not!!! Also, when I pull on the throttle all the way, it loses power. If I pull on the throttle half way, it revs normally. Just when I pull it all the way, the rev sound jumps to a high note and loses power. I already changed the BOOT. I am guessing it is the jetting of the carbs since the bike has vines&hines exhaust and K&N air filter inside the airbox. It can be checked with the carb on the bike, if you're familiar with it. Drop the bowl and use a mirror to see what numbers are on the keys. You'll also have to see if it has a stock or matching needle if they used a so called "jet kit". My guess, as is yours, they fouled up the jetting, which could include mixing stock parts with a jet kit. But first see what numbers are on the slow jet and main jet.
