Wen't on a ride today. Kind of a long one. Everything was going great. Bike was running well. I was cruising about 80mph , was in 5th , pulled the clutch in and let it go ( tried to up shift , but obviously couldn't because I was already in 5th) and the motor died. I pulled off the road and restarted it. It starts fine but wont go past 1/4 throttle. Try to ride it and it wants to die , and wont go past 20 mph , and wont stay at 20mph without lots of clutch play and throttle... I just did the dynamic timing about 200 miles ago. Any thoughts??

Thanks Ez , but that didn't do it...
I opened the carb and found a 42 slow jet and what looks like a 160 main... Went to the harley dealer and the main jets they sold me do not fit my carb... I just do not understand how it could go from running great to terrible in a blink of an eye... with nothing obvious changing...

Fixed it. I figured out that the reason I couldn't find main jets that fit , is because some type of aftermarket jet kit was used. ( 2 harley dealers told me that Buell jets are totally different. ) I battled with 2 dealerships and one regular ol bike shop , before I found someone that would sell me the proper needle jet holder.

Got the 45 slow jet , and I tried the 175 main , and moved the clip on the needle down to the third spot , A/F mixture screw 2.5 turns out , and its running well again... Not exactly sure WTF happened but I'm relieved that its working... also I dont think my old Das Boot was bad , but put a new one on anyway (Last night and it still wouldn't take throttle).

Thanks for all the info BWB... sometimes too much info to look through..

Dyno Jet!

They use Mikuni jets which are more refined...I'm not sure you will notice the difference with that much refinement.

I used to race off road on a honda 450 , and dyno jets were considered sub par....

I have to qualify my statement....

I'm not sure you will notice the difference on your Blast with that much refinement.
