A shop offered me that if I bring in the loose rear wheel with a worn tire, and my new tire, they will install and dispose for $40. That seems steep. Any ideas out there on that? (Yes I know I could do it myself... but it's not worth it right now.)

Cycle Gear near you? Yes its steep. But do you have any other choices? I assume that includes balancing?
Often if you buy the tire from the shop that does the install, its cheaper or even free.

The rear can be a pain to change especially if its oversized.

Cyclegear I believe it was $20 or $25 to mount and balance each tire.

Just make sure you remind them what side the pulley is on so they get the tire in the correct location or you'll have to make a return trip. Luckily mine is just around the corner.

I also ordered the Pirelli's (Thanks EZ) through them for a good price.

Really going to miss my local Cyclegear if I move.
