EZ or anyone, do you have a link to the cheap velocity stack intake filters like in the tutorial? The ones at American Sport Bike seem to be gone, and the other link is discontinued.

I was thinking about doing the mod but wanted to see how much those little filters are going to run me to get it together.

Outerwears.com has the filters - cheap - but you have to call them to order it.

What were you linking to with American Sport Bike? I'm still not seeing the filters, just the stack... Maybe I'm not looking for the right thing lol

So I know I'm going to sound like a noob but I am haha.

The filter part number would be 135B? Do they also sell a bootie thing to cover the filter? I may be thinking of something different but the one site I got linked to had the filter then a filter bootie I thought. I'm not sure if it was for rain or whatever.

I'm liking the idea of keeping the stock air box, removing the filter inside and running one of these on the open end like that mod tutorial shows. The velocity stack looks cool but then I'd have to worry about bracing the carb and such.

BTW, thanks for posting so much info online EZ. I've been researching on a lot of different things and your name always seems to pop up : D

You have to call outerwears.com - ask for the Blast stack filter/pre-filter - its only recently in their inventory and not on line.

Very important to get the right filter. You will have problems if you dont.

Bracing is not that big of a deal and almost an option (especially if you get the superboot). But keeping the stock airbox as a support is an excellent way to go.

No, just like the mod. Appearing stock, but gutted inside.

EZ, was that question for me? I found the part number. I'll have to order it up next week.

As for the instructions of cutting little triangles, I'm not sure where it is talking about doing that at. Do you have any pictures?

I ordered the filter from Outerwears. Part Number 12-1267-01

However, I didn't order the bootie. Do you run with that bootie on over the filter all the time? I'm just looking at the pictures on that other thread and it shows it on. I have a feeling I should have ordered more than just that filter huh?

The filter will be restrictive enough, the bootie will kill it.
In case 'someone' gets the wrong idea: What I mean is dont 'overfilter' the engine. Some have made the mistake of adding to the outerwears and wound up with a very restrictive filter.
