I am thinking about getting a couple of stands for working to the Blast. I am totally new to this, so here is the question: it seems to me the bike would be more stable with the the use of spools, am I right? Also, if I get spools, where and how do they mount? Do they remain on the bike at all times?

I saw that, good idea on the back, and I whipped up something for the rear. What about the front?

For futire reference:
Spools are a waste of money. They can save a little time at the racetrack and look cool. Otherwise your stuck with a stand that will only work on your bike, in one position or any bike with spools in the same location. There are plenty of cheap (and expensive) stands that dont use spools. They are very sturdy (I dont have a problem dragging the bike around the garage with the bike on them). And as Milt pointed out, there's more than one way to skin this cat!

Some bikes require the use of spools, the Blast isnt one of them.

For the front I used to jack the bike up by the front of the exhaust or a wooden block on the engine (wood only if i was using a rear stand-its not that stable). I now have a front stand!
