Anyone know how I can add fluid without taking my left foot pegs off? Also I have heard to use the same oil as the motor 20W50. Any help is appreciated.

Synthetic motor oil. Dino oil will cause problems. I dont know of a way to check fluid level without pulling the y-frame. Some have drilled a hole in the y-frame for access to the cover screws, some have been able to sneak a wrench in between the two. Some are able to just loosen the y-frame and gain access. However if your Blast has been dropped on the left side then you probably dont have enough room and have to take it completely off.
The other option is to completely drain the primary/trans and refill through the trans vent tube. Takes exactly 1 quart, better drained if hot, does take awhile to fill (about as much time or less as to R & R the y-frame). May be your best option if the fluid hasnt been changed in 2500 miles or more. See the oil thread on various trans fluids available if you dont want to use Harley synthetic.

So I ended up taking the y frame off, it was pretty easy since someone had done it before and left the hardest nut to get with a wing nut, the other two I could reach with a ratchet, 3 inch extension and a 9/16 socket. I put Mobil 1 20w50 in it and rtv a new gasket and made sure to use lock-tite on everything. It seemed to feel better shifting. Took less than a hour!!!

Loctite is bad to use on those cover screws as they are notorious for freezing up and stripping. Sorry.

Good thing I used the blue instead of the red I was going to use.

Think about this !!!

IF THE MOTOR SPROCKET SEAL GOES BAD, JUST WHERE DO YOU THINK THE TRANSMISSION LUBRICANT WILL GO AS WELL AS THE ENGINE OIL ???

HARLEY-DAVIDSON SYN3 20W50 is the best IMHO, "BUT" their DYNO 20W50 will work just as well in the engine and transmission ...

If you want make it easy on yourself in getting screws and bolts out of aluminum you must use anti-size compound on the threads ...
