Ok, so I am a novice rider and plan on taking a rider course shortly but I would like to start to get the feel of my 2002 Blast. The problem is I can't get it out of the garage. I get it into first gear start slowly releasing the clutch and slowly move the throttle and it learches forward about a foot quick and dies. I've tried everything I can think of and maybe it's just because I am a brand new rider but any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the Thumper Forum Dbemtit!

Is your kick stand up?
The Blast has a kick stand safety that will kill the engine if the kickstand is down. If your kick stand is up try taking the connector apart and jumping the two terminals together with a paper clip and then see if it fixes it.
Good luck, let us know how it turns out. Have fun with your safety class, then go practice alot before the snow falls!
I have been to Sheboygan in my travels, I don't remember if the Ludington car ferry took me there before, or if I drove though it on my way to Green Bay...I just don't remember now...

Yep, could be!!
Clutch, neutral or kickstand safety switch! All 3 work together to save your neck or ruin your day! All very simply bypassed.

The BAS (bank angle sensor) causes it's own like issues, but not as common and harder to diagnose.
