I saw one sell on eBay last week. The guy had a Buy it now of $275 with the "Or Best Offer Option". After it sold I went back and looked as saw some lucky buy bought it for $125.

Anybody besides me ever buy direct from Corbin??? On monday I was told it was done and would ship on tuesday...Tuesday no E-mail no tracking number...Called today they said it will be done tomorrow...asked the rep to check on it since I was told it was done...said he would call me and let me know...Now I'm starting to feel like the schoolmaster in the Pink Floyd song...i wanna yell "YOU, YES YOU...I'M STILL WAITING!!!!" They have A LOT of my money and I can't even get a callback....

What I remember...Took 4+ weeks to get it, they shipped it UPS when I specifically said USPS, and tacked $200 on to the price tag. (not a Blast-but a very common seat pan)
The good of it was I got a custom seat to my specifications and I knew the original price was too good to be true.
I've been told if you ride to the factory (Hollister, CA) they will custom make your seat, while you wait. I saw the seat, a very nice fit.

In short, they're worth the wait. If you even read this!!!

I was having the same problem with Latus HD and Chaparral. I did get my seat and grips from Latus last night, but Chaparral does not have a clue when I might see my SuperBike bars.

Nothing special at all...just a black seat..maybe I'm spoiled from dealing with EXCELLENT vendors in my professional life and from dealing with Chaparell (those guys ROCK! when it comes to customer service)and Hesco (parts for those with a serious Jeep Speed addiction). Oh well, as long as it works out in the end, I guess.

Yeah, chrome, but the black is out of stock too.

When I called them originally...I was hoping they had one in stock here in Florida...I was going to ride over and pick one up at their Daytona/Ormond Beach place...(only about a 80 mile run from here)...but nope...all blast seats are custom build...nothing in stock...

At least my NEXT planned mod (powdercoat the wheels) will be easy and hassle free..the powdercoat shop is literally a rock throw from the back door of my shop. : )

Seems to me just because the seat is very well worth it, Corbin shouldn't make up for it on lack of customer service......just saying. BTW...I do have a Corbin, but I didn't have to wait or deal with them. Rule #1 TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS

This morning I FINALLY got shipping notification..but it didn't come from Corbin, it came from UPS...at least it finally got shipped...now I wait a week for it to get here since it was shipped UPS "Commercial"...and I was charged 40 bux to ship a 14 pound package on the slowest possible route...

And Wolfsoul you are right on the money with THAT statement...I run the service department of a major A/C and Refrigeration company...if WE had customer service like that...we would be out of business. An old adage of business is "quality, price, service...pick any two" I certainly wasn't shopping for price...I got poor service...I can only hope that the final thing "quality" lives up to the reputation..

I'm not always the sharpest crayon in the box...and I'm not always right...but I will put credit where credit is due.. I took the time to research...and in case nobody else actually looked it up...Reuel is right about the Pink Floyd lyric.

I dragged out my Wall album and replayed it and it still sounded to me like I thought it sounded...but the written lyrics say otherwise...the 70's must have had more impact than i previously thought. I will now listen to "comfortably numb" at max volume as punishment for my mistake ; )

You'll love the seat. I do, but it still doesn't make it right that they treat there customers like that. I am just glad I didn't have to deal with them at all. I hope you enjoy your seat. It does take a bit to break it in thou.

All these years, and I thought it was "Stand still laddie!"

"...do you know how the bridge stands? THEN STAND LIKE IT ! ! !"

LOL - good times!

That kind of customer service (and pricing!) encourages do-it-yerselfers... it seems that foam can be obtained from various sources, in various densities and thicknesses (carpet padding, old couch & chair cushions, flotation devices, rabid teddy bears...) - but has anyone (here) found a source for the "gel" material?}

There are several places on E-bay that sell gel material in sheets and pieces.

I have never used it on a street ridden bike, but I cover the "seat" section of dragbikes with "Rubertex" foam insulation sheeting which is available from refrigeration supply houses or contractors.
It is black, closed cell, resilient and semi stiff. It looks remarkably like the material that is being used in a picture on the "Sargents" website.

And I just checked the UPS tracking site, and my seat is in Jacksonville...I should get it tomorrow.

HAPPY DAY!!! my seat came in!!! It looks too good to risk actually using it ; )

AND my clutch kit and tool came in from Energy One...funny, i ordered it on monday..got here today! and it came from California same as my seat...makes yah go HMMMMMMMMMM! and they didn't rip me off on freight...well packaged and it looks like excellent quality to boot.

AND I got my DSL line running..have been waiting 5 years to get away from dial-up.

Unless a meteor or something hits me in the head...great day!! (and I got off work early to come home and get my DSL running).

I got the seat fitted and mounted..it fits OK...not as exact as the stock seats...but it grows on you...taller than the low seat, lower than the tall seat...much more support for the ole backside...the foam is hard as a rock....like concrete with a nice leather cover...but it does seem to be sort of breaking in (Corbin says 4000 miles to break in) MUCH, MUCH better than the stock seats except one thing....grab a good handful of brake and you slide to the front pretty easy...overall I think it is a major improvement in comfort...

Can anybody recommend a leather treatment that does a good job AND gives some traction???

200+ mile report...Saturday I spent an hour zipping around town more or less, getting a feel for the seat...I used some of EZ's recommended Armor-All stuff on it and it has a bit better traction.

Sunday I went on a 180 mile ride...I can only say I am extremely pleased with the seat...with the stock seat I have never went more than 30 or 40 miles without getting a severe case of monkey-butt (only those over 40 or so can appreciate the real meaning of that)...the dished part is comfy but not too restraining...you can slide up on the front part easily when you need some forward weight and can hang off as much as you need...It was after the ride that I realized i had suffered no discomfort from the seat. And it promises to get better as it breaks in.

The bottom line....awful expensive....poor customer service....but I will probably do it again if I ever have need for another comfy seat...money well spent.
