harley dealer told me that belt is warranty item as buyers of big bikes still think that a chain is stronger . they said that it would be replaced as long as all the belt guards were in place. this applies to rock damage and excessive wear so might be worth asking . I was looking at a Uly and was told this applied to all belt drive bikes may be they were just trying to sell the bike but please post if it works out. CV
